Chapter 144: Displaying Power! The Respect of Thor and Loki
The two men who walked in were a slim guy and a muscular guy.
They snuck in to scout things out. On one hand, they wanted to figure out their sister’s status. On the other hand, they wanted to figure out that man’s status.
Cough, cough.
Anyway, after the two entered, Thor greeted them. Lorien sat up, waved his hand, and two chairs slid over by themselves, settling neatly for Thor and Loki. The two pulled the chairs out and sat down.
Aria then opened the refrigerator, took out two bottles of iced milk tea, and placed them in front of them, meaning one bottle each. Loki and Thor both reached out at the same time to take the drinks.
Thor curiously examined it and sniffed. Loki kicked his shoe from underneath, and Thor finally realized and held it properly. Lorien smiled helplessly when he saw this.
"You can drink it. It’s milk tea. Natasha and Tony both said it’s good."
At the mention of Natasha and Tony, the two exchanged glances. They immediately understood that Lorien already knew exactly where they stood.
Loki opened the milk tea first, speaking politely.
"I am Loki Odinson, from the former Asgard."
Thor nodded politely in turn.
"I am Thor Odinson, from the same place as him, and his older brother."
Lorien already knew this. Compared to Hela’s personality, Thor and Loki were sometimes jokingly called the Second Princess and Third Princess. It made sense, especially considering how ruthless Hela used to be.
Thor and Loki began tasting the milk tea. They each took a small sip. Then, both were equally surprised.
"Wow, this is amazing!"
"That’s right, even better than Asgardian mead!"
They were surprised at how good it tasted, though of course, it was just delicious. For Thor, who loved drinking, wine was still his true love.
After two more sips, they put the milk tea down. Lorien gestured with his hand.
"Whether it’s for treatment or consultation, you can tell me the reason you came."
Thor and Loki exchanged another glance. To avoid Thor saying something wrong, Loki chose to speak first.
"Actually, we came mainly to find out about our sister’s whereabouts."
Thor nodded sincerely.
"After Ragnarok, only about thirty Asgardians survived. So every Asgardian still out there is precious to us.
She doesn’t need to return, but we want to know how she’s doing, and keep in touch."
Loki nodded in agreement. Their first goal was to learn about Hela’s current life. The second was to maintain contact, since they were all Asgardians.
Lorien nodded. He understood. These two were no longer the same Thor and Loki as before. And Hela was no longer the same Hela either.
"She seems to be doing fine. But whether she’s truly happy is something she should say herself."
Lorien waved to the twins, Aria and Bella.
"Go call Hela down. Tell her what’s going on."
Bella nodded, then went upstairs to call Hela. Thor and Loki watched them leave.
Thor was thinking about finally seeing Hela again—how was the eldest princess of Asgard living now?
But Loki had already realized. So Hela was living here! And this was also Lorien’s home.
That meant...
Loki’s pupils narrowed slightly as he thought to himself. So Hela already had a new home.
Taking advantage of the moment, Loki turned back, pretending to be surprised.
"Our sister actually lives here? This place is really nice."
Thor was still lost in the joy of seeing his sister again. He happily picked up the milk tea and took another sip, smiling to himself. But as soon as it went down—
"Ugh—"
He almost spat it out but forced himself to swallow. He turned and saw Loki staring at him with a dumb look. Thor finally understood.
His sister had settled down!
Oh my god!
Lorien almost burst out laughing watching the two of them. Together, they were just too dumb. He shook his head helplessly and spoke plainly.
"Just as you guessed. Hela lives here, but she’s not the only one. Understand?"
In other words, stay calm. Lorien was being straightforward: there was more than one woman in this house.
Thor and Loki exchanged glances again. Then both nodded and said,
"It’s okay. As long as Hela is happy."
And happy she was. Every day she ate, drank, slept, played, and occasionally had some special Lorien. How could she not be happy? She was even gaming right now.
That was why Thor and Loki could accept it. And Hela had never minded being one of the later ones. Because they all came from Norse mythology!
How many women did Odin have? More than anyone could count! He even forbade his sons from joining the Harem Sect. But that’s not the point—why did the Harem Sect even exist in the first place?
You think the modern internet is raunchy and violent? No! That’s just leftovers from Norse mythology! They were doing that ages ago!
Of course, maybe real Asgard wasn’t that chaotic. Maybe that was just during wartime Asgard. But who knows?
Either way, Odin had plenty of women. So in Asgard’s eyes, if a man was charming and powerful, it was natural for him to have many women. The same went for women!
That’s why Hela never minded being one of the later ones. Because she had already submitted to Lorien.
That’s also why Thor and Loki said, as long as Hela was happy, that was enough.
...
Meanwhile, on the other side.
After being informed by Bella and Aria, Hela learned that her two foolish younger brothers had actually come to the house! What were those two thinking?
"Sorry, Galacta, I need to go downstairs for a moment."
Hela put down the controller and stormed back to her bedroom. She took off her long dress, then changed into a normal urban-style outfit, slipped into her boots, and headed downstairs.
For Hela, dresses were only meant for Lorien to see. Back then, the clothes Lorien bought for her were mostly dresses. So when it came to meeting others, she never wore them.
As soon as she reached the second-to-last floor, she pushed open the door with a cold expression. Thor and Loki turned to look at her, only to be met with her scolding.
"What are you two useless fools doing here?"
"You couldn’t even protect Asgard, and now you have the nerve to come here seeking shelter?"
"We already arranged a place for you, so what are you doing here again?"
Hela walked in and immediately unleashed a barrage of insults.
Though she didn’t look very big now, her aura as the elder sister was overwhelming. Her presence alone was enough to make Thor and Loki shrink back, heads lowered, not daring to look at her.
Lorien acknowledged her force. That kind of presence—yes, impressive.
After Hela finished yelling, she came to Lorien’s side, glanced at the two, and asked,
"Speak. Why are you here?"
Thor and Loki both let out a breath.
Thor looked at Hela and said,
"We came to see how the Asgardians living outside are doing, whether they’re living well."
After Thor spoke, Hela shot a look at Loki.
Loki immediately added,
"And also to check on your physical condition."
"We saw you had shrunk so much, we thought something was wrong with your body."
"And we also need to understand... uh..."
He hesitated, sneaking a glance at Lorien’s kind expression. Then he clenched his teeth and said,
"Understand your family situation."
When Hela heard this, especially the word "family," she nodded. At least they seemed sincere.
Anyway, Odin was gone, and Asgard had already fallen. So Hela spoke directly.
"Don’t you know that old man Odin was always afraid of me returning?"
"Didn’t he tell you about my situation?"
Thor and Loki exchanged glances and shook their heads.
"No. He only mentioned it briefly at the end."
So that was it. Hela didn’t feel like saying too much either.
"What’s past is past. I’ll just explain it simply.
My divine power comes from Asgard itself.
So after my divine power faded, my form became like this.
If I want to recover, I need to strengthen my divine power again."
Hela’s recovery actually followed a proportional scale—no, more accurately, it was based on time. As long as there was enough energy, she could keep growing, day by day. But it would take time.
Lorien glanced at her after hearing this. It did seem true. Hela already looked a few centimeters taller compared to when she first arrived here.
And the most obvious change... her old bustier was no longer enough. Soon she could probably wear a proper B-cup bra.
What was this? The more energy she absorbed, the bigger she grew? Some kind of succubus constitution?
After hearing her explanation, Thor and Loki both sighed in relief. At least it wasn’t a problem with her body.
"That’s good."
Now that they knew the reason behind her smaller form, only one thing was left puzzling them—her family situation.
Lorien knew they wanted to gauge his strength and influence. But how to put it? Instead of telling them, it was better to let them see for themselves.
"I know what you’re curious about."
Lorien raised his hand and said to Thor and Loki.
"Go experience it for yourselves."
He snapped his fingers.
Snap—
In the next moment, a teleportation gate appeared beneath their chairs.
"Huh!?" The two froze. Then they grabbed onto their seats as they dropped through.
"Ahhh—!"
Their screams echoed and then vanished as the gate closed.
Hela looked on curiously.
"Where did they go?"
Lorien waved his hand.
"They’re experiencing it firsthand."
As he waved, a projection appeared on the table. The perspective was third-person, and the background was the vast cosmos.
Thor and Loki were shown still sitting in their chairs, hurtling forward under accelerated time and space.
"Ahhhhhh—!"
They screamed all the way as they left Earth behind and headed toward Cybertron.
Their chairs carried them around the planet three full times. Together, they witnessed Cybertron’s awe-inspiring grandeur and the majestic Stargate that crowned its skies.
Then, suddenly, time-space acceleration surged again.
The next moment, they were thrown into the depths of the universe, passing by dozens of massive transport fleets and legions belonging to the Transformers civilization.
After that, their course shifted once more. The chairs carried them to Xandar.
The planet was prosperous, thriving, full of life. But one part of it still bore the scars of war.
Think that’s all?
No.
A temporal portal opened before their eyes.
Stepping through, they arrived at Xandar in the recent past. At that time, Thanos’s army was assaulting the Nova Empire. Just as the planet faced destruction, the Transformers fleet suddenly descended into the battlefield.
The result—Thanos’s forces were annihilated.
After witnessing this historic clash, Thor and Loki were pulled back into their chairs and returned to the present.
Next, they slipped through time again, this time back to Earth’s vicinity. Another scene unfolded—the past.
The Celestial Arishem had descended, Judgment in hand, as if ready to destroy Earth itself.
But then, time shifted.
The once-overbearing Arishem suddenly fled in panic. Before leaving, he was struck down and grievously injured by a snap of Lorien’s fingers.
Thor and Loki, still seated, were dragged back into the present. Their final trajectory sent them flying back toward Earth.
Watching it all, Hela’s eyes lit up with excitement.
"This is kind of fun!"
...
"...You’re such a tease."
"Alright."
A short while later, two portals opened in the middle of Lorien’s office.
"Bang! Bang!"
Thor and Loki clung tightly to their chairs as they tumbled back through.
"Pant, pant, pant..."
The two of them were gasping for air. They had held their breath the entire time they were time-traveling—no breathing at all. That was what made it thrilling!
After a long while, Thor finally steadied himself. He patted his chest and said,
"The Transformers civilization is yours... and that giant god yesterday, you were the one who drove it away?"
Hela shot him a look.
"That was a Celestial. Your father Odin even fought one once. The fact that he wasn’t beaten to death just means that old bastard got lucky."
Thor, still panting, nodded to show he understood.
Loki caught his breath and then added,
"Lately, the whole universe has been talking about Thanos’s army being crushed. I thought it was fake, but it turns out it was real!"
Thor turned toward him.
"Why didn’t you tell me?"
"I told you—I thought it was fake."
Loki had once struck a deal with Thanos. Thanos had granted him a so-called command, which wasn’t even a proper unit. Because of that, Loki always assumed Thanos was terrifyingly powerful.
But the rumors flying around the universe sounded ridiculous.
A Transformers army with zero casualties crushing Thanos’s legions?
Every encounter ending in a battle, and every time Thanos getting beaten senseless?
It all sounded like clickbait from some cosmic marketing accounts.
So Loki truly thought it was false. Could Thanos really be that pathetic?
Turns out, yes. Against true strength, he was nothing but trash.
The two brothers sat there catching their breath, their hearts finally calming down.
When they looked back at Lorien, their eyes held far more respect.
Now that was proper. By Earth’s reckoning, Lorien was their brother-in-law. How could they not show him respect?
Lorien met their gaze and nodded with satisfaction.
"So? Are you satisfied with your sister’s family?"
"Satisfied, satisfied."
Hearing his words, the two nodded rapidly, like pounding garlic.
Cybertron, the Transformers civilization, the fleet, that colossal Stargate, the Celestials driven off in defeat—everything had left them utterly shaken.
No exaggeration: even at its peak, the Asgardian civilization—without Odin present—would have been crushed flat by the Transformers civilization.
It was obvious to them. Like a match in StarCraft, the gap in power was overwhelming. Only Odin could have turned the tide.
And for Asgard as it stood now... Hela having a family like this was a blessing beyond measure.
Seeing Thor and Loki’s awestruck expressions, Hela crossed her arms and smiled with satisfaction.
"As long as the remaining Asgardians stay on Earth, they’ll be safe. Your Avengers can protect them.
Don’t even think about trying to rebuild the Asgardian continent or civilization in the Nine Realms.
If you still have the drive, just rebuilding a small Asgard town here on Earth is enough."
Thor and Loki exchanged a glance. Rebuilding a small Asgard town didn’t sound bad at all.
They both nodded.
Thor declared firmly,
"Alright, we’ll rebuild a small Asgard town with our own hands!"
