Chapter 141: Galacta Joins the Battle! The Celestials Flee in Panic! Two More Allies Arrive!
At the same time.
On the top floor of the Northern Tower, Galacta was happily playing video games with Hela.
The two of them sat cross-legged on a thick carpet. Each held a controller, completely immersed in their battle. Hela’s skills were impressive—when things got intense, her whole body seemed to move in sync with the controller! In other words, she would lean and tilt along with it as she played.
Devourer Girl’s skills were just as remarkable. She was naturally gifted, and when it came to gaming, she was top-notch too.
After spending the whole afternoon teaming up with her, Hela couldn’t help but exclaim,
"I approve of you, Galacta. You’re the best teammate I’ve ever had!"
"You flatter me."
Devourer Girl chewed on a Phoenix-brand lollipop, smiling as she played alongside Hela.
What a wonderful life! For Devourer Girl, as long as her stomach wasn’t empty, it was a good day. And with a friend by her side, it became a great day! If the future promised never going hungry again... then that future was truly glorious!
No need to say more—the future was bright!!!
But the very next moment, Devourer Girl froze mid-game. Her eyes shifted toward the window.
Hela stiffened as well, a sudden sense of dread rising in her chest.
They exchanged a glance. Both dropped their controllers and rushed toward the floor-to-ceiling window.
"Whoosh!"
The curtains were yanked open! And there it was—an enormous six-faced head filling the view outside!
It loomed beyond Earth’s atmosphere. Its head alone was nearly the size of the planet!
"Who is that? Wait—I remember now!"
At first, Hela didn’t recognize it. But recalling something Lorien had once said, she and Devourer Girl exchanged a knowing look.
"The Celestials!"
Out of the corner of her eye, Hela noticed something strange. The people below the skyscraper were going about their lives, completely unfazed. She looked at the other crowds across the city, then back at the massive head outside Earth.
"Why aren’t the people in the city afraid? Don’t they see that enormous thing out there?"
She couldn’t understand why humans weren’t panicking. Normally, at the first sign of crisis, they’d be screaming.
"That’s because they can’t see it," Devourer Girl explained after glancing around.
"It’s all made of life energy. If the Celestials let humans see them, either mass suicides would break out, or it’d trigger another world war."
"Besides, the Celestials are high-dimensional beings. It’s perfectly normal for regular humans not to see them. You either need enough power yourself, or the Celestials have to allow you to see them."
Oh~~ Hela finally understood.
It was just like Lorien’s diminished presence. If he didn’t want you to notice him, you wouldn’t—even if he was right in front of you speaking.
It was like Sakurajima Mai in Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai—ignored by nearly everyone around her. Of course, hers was passive. But for Lorien and the Celestials, it was deliberate.
At that moment, under their watchful eyes, Devourer Girl and Hela also saw several tiny black figures being dragged away!
Devourer Girl frowned. Were the Celestials going to cause trouble for Earth? That wouldn’t do! If Earth ran into trouble, what about her future food supply? No way!
"Hela, we need to check this out. Earth might be in danger. I can force the Celestials to leave."
Hela thought for a moment, then nodded.
"Alright. Lorien might be there too. We should go."
The two agreed instantly. Devourer Girl took Hela and went straight to find the Celestials’ judge, Arishem.
Anyone else on Earth—even Odin or the Ancient One if they were alive—would probably fear the Celestials. But Devourer Girl wasn’t afraid!
Why? Because the Celestials were only at the Universal-level. She was already on equal footing with them. And her father was one of the Five Abstract Entities.
What reason did she have to fear?
...
Elsewhere.
With a snap of his fingers, Lorien brought Wanda and Gwen to Earth’s outer orbit.
Wanda shielded herself with Chaos Magic drawn from the Book of Vishanti. Gwen instantly donned her symbiote battle armor and drew the Black Necrosword.
Lorien didn’t need to act. He simply stood quietly, watching Arishem from not far away.
At that moment, Arishem had just captured the remaining Eternals in his hand. He seemed to be saying something—or perhaps interrogating them.
But unlike the original story, this time, Arishem, the Celestials’ judge, directly extracted their memories.
After absorbing them in an instant, he turned his gaze toward Lorien and muttered,
"Symbiote? Black Necrosword?"
To be honest, just seeing these two things would have been enough to give most Celestials PTSD. After all, the ancient memories of the Celestials were shared. Every Celestial carried the knowledge of their predecessors and the history of the universe.
But when Arishem looked at Lorien, he fell silent.
"Symbiote, Black Necrosword, Chaos Magic, and..."
Arishem’s gaze lingered on Lorien.
"I can’t see through you."
At those words, Lorien smiled faintly. Then he released the aura of his power.
As expected, the Celestials recognized it immediately.
"Phoenix Force..."
In that instant, Arishem could sense just how overwhelming the Phoenix Force truly was. It far surpassed even the Chaos Magic wielder standing nearby.
And in the Eternals’ memories, Arishem had seen Wanda, Gwen, Godzilla, the Eternals, the Deviants...
But not Lorien.
Now Arishem understood. This was the mastermind behind everything!
He waved his hand. The Eternals were flung into the cosmos, held there temporarily.
Then Arishem turned back to Lorien.
"You were the one who planned the destruction of the Celestial Seed—the human chosen by the Phoenix Force."
He was right. Lorien nodded, confirming Arishem’s words.
But...
"Your Celestial Seed will destroy my home and cost me my job, Arishem."
Are you kidding? Work is important!
Without a job, how is Lorien supposed to survive?
Right now, the safest place in the universe isn’t anywhere else—it’s the Northern Tower!
"Job."
Arishem’s voice was cold and emotionless. The word sounded both like a question and a statement.
"The order of the universe requires the Celestials to maintain it.
We create planets, stars, nebulae, galaxies, black holes, even the very fabric of the universe itself.
For the universe to function properly, a new Celestial must be born every ten billion years.
The Celestials planted a Celestial Seed on Earth at its creation.
Tiamut’s existence was of utmost importance.
But not long ago, you destroyed him."
First, Arishem explained the Celestials’ duties. Then he stressed their importance. Finally, he declared how crucial their role was. And at the end, he laid the blame on you for ruining everything.
It was as if he were saying,
"You deserve to die!
Why don’t you just die?
Can’t you die for the sake of the universe’s survival?"
At that, Wanda and Gwen shook their heads in disbelief. They turned to Lorien.
"I thought you meant there was no right or wrong, just different stances. But now... this is pure opposition," Wanda said.
"I can sacrifice myself for Earth’s survival because I care about it. But you can’t force me to sacrifice for Earth. That’s not the same thing," Gwen added.
They were right. Everyone has the freedom to choose. No one is obligated to make the ultimate sacrifice. And even if that moment comes, it should be a matter of free will—never forced.
But what the Celestials meant was simple: for the universe to continue turning, the people of Earth had to die, so that Tiamut could be born. The purpose of it all—ensuring the universe’s ongoing function. But the condition was: you must die first.
What kind of nonsense is that? Why? What does Tiamut have to do with us? Do we even have feelings for the universe?
Sure, you Celestials live for billions or trillions of years. But ordinary people spend half their lives just paying off a thirty-year mortgage! A superhero fight can fling away the car I’ve been paying off for ten years in a single blow!
If it crashes into something, fine—I might at least get on the news. If it doesn’t, then I’ve lost everything!
And now you’re telling me to sacrifice myself for the "greater good of the universe"?
Screw you! Get lost!
Lorien didn’t even feel like arguing with the Celestials. Argue? About what? Your stance is that Earth’s destruction is necessary for the universe to keep turning. My stance is that my home and my work are here, and now you’re telling me to die? What’s left to discuss?
"Huff..."
Lorien let out a breath, shook his head, and said,
"Arishem, my stance is firm: Earth must keep running as it is. So the conclusion is simple.
One: You agree, and take your Eternals to find another habitable planet.
Two: You refuse, in which case the result will be the same as option one."
Arishem paused, actually considering Lorien’s words. Because Lorien’s threat wasn’t small. And beside him stood a sorceress wielding Chaos Magic and a warrior in a Symbiote battle suit, holding a Black Necrosword.
To put it bluntly, if Wanda and Gwen reached their full potential, even if Arishem fought one-on-one against either of them, the outcome would be uncertain.
He might win. But he could just as easily be beheaded by the Black Necrosword, or crushed into atoms by Chaos Magic.
This wasn’t a joke.
The Celestials were beings of immense technology, power, and wisdom. After careful thought, Arishem knew he couldn’t strike. The chances of victory were too slim.
But if he simply left, then his role as a Celestial judge would lose all meaning.
Yes, the Celestials were abstract entities of pure energy. Their way of thinking was nothing like humans’. They didn’t ask whether something was right or wrong. They only asked: Can this be done now? What is my duty? Can it be done in the future? That was their logic.
Which is why Lorien never saw any point in debating with the Celestials. Different paths, different goals—there was no way forward together.
Just as the Celestial hesitated, suddenly—a burst of purple light shot across the sky, carrying a figure straight between Lorien and the Celestials.
Lorien and the others immediately looked up.
"Galacta, Hela." Wanda hurriedly asked, "How did you two get here?"
Devourer Girl first stood between the two. She glanced back at Lorien, then immediately pulled Hela to stand by his side. That made her stance clear.
She directly addressed Arishem.
"I am Galactus’s daughter, Galacta. If you don’t leave, I’ll send a transmission to my father!"
In truth, she didn’t even need to say it. The moment Arishem saw her arrive, he could already sense that her energy source felt familiar. Once he heard the name Galactus, he didn’t utter another word. He simply reached out, seized the Eternals into his hand, and his massive figure began to flicker before gradually fading away.
Lorien exhaled sharply.
You’ve been confronting me for so long, and yet the moment you see Galactus’s daughter, you run? Aren’t you supposed to be the Judge?
He sighed inwardly, then snapped his fingers.
Snap~
The sky doesn’t transmit sound, but the fleeing Arishem’s body suddenly broke apart into snowflake-like fragments. A muffled groan escaped him before he shattered completely, vanishing piece by piece.
With nothing more than a casual snap, Lorien had left Arishem grievously wounded. Forget about recovering in a short time—it would take ten thousand, even a hundred thousand years before he could return. Looking at it now, it would’ve been better to find an excuse and kill him outright. Just say you wanted to destroy my Earth. Then we’d be sworn enemies, no questions asked.
"He just ran off?" Gwen looked at the fleeing Celestials in confusion. "That big, and still running that fast?"
And who exactly was that girl?
Seeing that the Celestials were gone, Lorien turned around and explained.
"She’s Galacta, daughter of the Devourer of Worlds, one of the Five Abstract Entities. The Celestials were no match for her father, so they ran."
Hearing this, Devourer Girl realized Gwen was the last person she hadn’t met, but clearly the one closest to Lorien. So she sweetly extended her hand.
"Hello, I’m Galacta. Just treat me like an ordinary person. I’m a runaway.
So what I said to that Celestial earlier was a lie. Please don’t let anyone know where I am."
When Gwen heard she was a runaway, she immediately retracted her Symbiote battle suit, shook Galacta’s hand, and said,
"My name is Gwen Stacy.
You’re actually a runaway? I thought about it too—I wanted to elope with Lorien, but I never had the chance. My parents treat me too well."
Huh? What’s with that?
Lorien looked at Gwen helplessly. Even good girls have rebellious hearts, it seemed.
When Galacta heard Gwen had also thought of running away, she asked curiously,
"Then why did you want to run away?"
"Because my dad’s irresponsible and cruel. He only ever thinks about devouring this planet, then the next one."
Gwen thought her reason sounded way too grand.
"For me, it’s because my parents were too strict. They gave me a curfew every night, so I couldn’t be with Lorien after dark. That’s why I wanted to run away. But later, Lorien smoothed things over with them!"
Lorien: ...
Don’t say stuff like that. Didn’t you notice Wanda already pressing her two-finger strike against my waist?
He quietly nudged Wanda’s fingers away.
"Cough, well, since everything’s wrapped up, you two should head home. Wanda, Gwen, and I will go back a bit later. Right now, we’re at Tony’s place eating barbecue."
Hela, who had been slacking off, perked up immediately at the word.
"Barbecue?!"
In an instant, two more pairs of eyes were staring at Lorien.
He sighed.
"Fine, I’ll take you along. Tony’s place can handle a couple more mouths."
A new mission for today—eat all of Tony’s barbecue!
Lorien snapped his fingers.
Snap~
The next moment, Lorien appeared in Tony’s yard with four girls in tow.
Tony, still in his armor, was staring at the sky. When he saw Lorien return, he opened his mask and stepped forward, intending to give him a hug. But when he noticed two extra girls, Tony froze.
"What? Weren’t you supposed to be saving the world?"
"Cough, cough, I did save it," Lorien said with an awkward throat clear. "These two just tagged along. We’re only here to mooch a meal."
Tony tilted his head, pursed his lips, and gave him a strange look.
"So what you’re saying is—you mainly went to bring back two girls, and only saved the world on the side?"
"Ah... well... yes." Lorien nodded.
Slap~
Tony clapped his hands and threw them up.
That was the sign of a man whose patience was gone.
"This day is ruined."
