Marvel: The Psychologist Who Stole Wanda and Gwen's Hearts!

Chapter 88 - 088: Meeting Wanda and Stephen! You Won’t Even Call Me Godfather

"Eternal Portal!?"

Wong froze, staring at the spell in shock.

What kind of sorcerer starts their studies with eternal magic? This was something even the Sorcerer Supreme struggled to master—a technique recorded over countless generations by ancient masters.

"Eternal Portal?"

Wanda was just as stunned when she heard the name.

"The Ancient One told me this was just a normal spell."

The Ancient One?

Wong thought about it for a moment.

"The Ancient One taught you this personally?" he asked.

"Yes."

Wanda’s admission only deepened Wong’s confusion.

He closed the magic book, glanced at the cover, then flipped through a few pages. Everything looked normal—this was just an ordinary library-issued spellbook.

"Can I see some of the other spells?" Wong asked.

Wanda looked to Lorien, who gave her a small nod.

She followed suit. "Alright."

Wong leafed through more pages, but all the other spells were perfectly normal. No differences at all.

The more he looked, the deeper his frown became.

Finally, he handed the book back to Wanda, shaking his head.

"These are all special spells The Ancient One prepared for you," he said. "But I don’t know exactly what she had in mind."

"As for this one—" He pointed at the portal Wanda had opened. "This is an Eternal Portal. Once it’s opened, it never has to close. You can leave it alone, or even control who can enter and who can’t."

"If your magic were stronger, you could make it so that enemies who step through get dropped into deep space—or into a pool of lava—while allies arrive exactly where they’re meant to."

Only now did Wanda realize the portal spell she’d been practicing wasn’t an ordinary one at all, but the notoriously difficult Eternal Portal.

Lorien glanced at her. "Do you know how rare the portal you just opened is?"

Wanda shook her head.

Lorien gave her an example. "There are three Sanctum Sanctorum on Earth. Each Sanctum has three portals linked to the others—and all three of those are Eternal Portals."

She’d used those portals before, but had never thought much of it—until now.

Wong added, "The magic for those portals is nearly impossible to replicate. Before, only The Ancient One could do it. Even Stephen can’t now. But now, we have you... Sorcerer Wanda."

His words laid out the true weight of the spell.

Once, The Ancient One had been the only one in the world who could cast it. Now, there was only Wanda—and the current Sorcerer Supreme himself didn’t know it.

To Wanda, this meant something else entirely—proof that she wasn’t slow or incompetent.

"Plop~" She threw her arms around Lorien, her voice brimming with excitement.

"Lorien~!"

He hugged her back, giving Wong a small gesture to excuse himself. Wong nodded, bowed, and left.

"You see?" Lorien said softly, smiling. "You’re not stupid. You’re a genius. I’ve always said so."

"Mhm!" Wanda held him tighter, refusing to let go.

These past days had been heavy for her. Before she started practicing, she had checked how long it had taken others to learn the teleportation spell. When she finally tried it herself, she found it incredibly difficult.

But to see Lorien as soon as possible, she’d trained day and night without rest. Even after she succeeded, she hesitated to admit how long it had taken her, worried he might think she was slow.

And yet, Wanda couldn’t lie. The first thing she did upon seeing him was tell him the truth.

"It’s alright," Lorien reassured her, patting her back. "Now, let me tell you the real truth."

"The truth?"

She stepped back, puzzled. Wong had already explained almost everything—was there still more to it?

"Hand me the magic book."

Without hesitation, Wanda passed it to him.

Lorien flipped through it casually, then let out a helpless little laugh, shaking his head.

"The Ancient One, you really left yourself plenty of backup plans—worried I wouldn’t bother looking after Earth, huh?"

Wanda blinked. "Huh?"

She didn’t quite catch his meaning.

But the next moment—

Snap!

Lorien snapped his fingers. The surface of the magic book suddenly burst into flames! Every single page! Every word! Every symbol! Every spell! All of it was engulfed in fire!

Three seconds later, the flames vanished.

When Wanda looked again, the book was completely different. It had turned into a pure white magic book.

Lorien flipped through it casually.

"Clatter~~~"

As the pages fluttered by, every piece of writing, every rune, every spell had changed. Only one thing remained—the Eternal Portal spell.

"Do you know what this magic book is?" Lorien asked with a smile.

"No." Wanda shook her head without hesitation.

"It’s a magic book every sorcerer dreams of having."

He snapped it shut and handed it to her.

"It’s called the Book of the Vishanti."

Wanda’s eyes widened at the name. Back when she first arrived at Kamar-Taj and explored the library, she had learned there were two most powerful magic books in existence—one was the Darkhold, and the other, the Book of the Vishanti.

The two countered each other. Normally, only the Book of the Vishanti could suppress the Darkhold. Likewise, only the Darkhold could stand against the Book of the Vishanti.

Of course, that referred to the magic within them, not the books themselves.

So when she saw Lorien offering her the Book of the Vishanti, Wanda was startled. She quickly waved her hands.

"Lorien, you use it—or we can study it together!"

Lorien chuckled and patted her head.

"I don’t need any spells. To me, the Book of the Vishanti is nothing more than a table weight. You keep it.

Besides, the Ancient One gave you this book because she knew I’d eventually see it and help you unlock it. If you don’t take it, she won’t be at ease trusting me with Earth’s protection."

This wasn’t Lorien showing off—it was simply the truth. With the Phoenix Force, magic was pointless. If he willed something, it happened.

And the Ancient One was a master of contingencies. She knew words alone wouldn’t be enough. Without paying some price, Lorien had no real reason to commit to Earth’s defense.

But she also knew Lorien was someone who truly cared for the people he loved. So, with nothing else she could offer him directly, she gave Wanda her most precious treasure—the Book of the Vishanti—as payment. That way, when Lorien found out, the odds of him helping would rise.

That was her final trump card.

Seeing Lorien was serious, Wanda hesitated briefly, then accepted the book.

"I’ll practice hard!"

Lorien ruffled her hair.

"Just give it your best."

Yes—effort first, talent will handle the rest. The Book of the Vishanti was nothing compared to the potential of Chaos Magic. When fully developed, it was a Universal-level power. Not as overwhelming as the Phoenix Force, but still more than enough to crush the Celestials.

Which meant Wanda had the greatest potential among all his women. Not that Lorien cared to rank them—when he wanted someone strong, he could make them strong.

After Wanda put the book away, she checked the time in New York and suddenly realized,

"It’s already nighttime there!"

"Let’s hurry back—we can still have some fun. I’ll go pack!"

Excited at the thought, she rushed off to gather her things.

Watching her go, Lorien wandered aimlessly for a bit... and happened to run into Stephen.

The moment Stephen spotted him, his eyes widened, and he jogged over at once.

"Lorien!"

Stephen ran up to Lorien in one breath.

Catching his breath, he gave Lorien a quick hug before letting go. Lorien looked at him and smiled.

"You’ve already become the Sorcerer Supreme, yet you still won’t call me ’godfather’?"

At those words, Stephen rubbed his nose, then called out, "Godfather!"

He didn’t feel embarrassed saying it—but it left Lorien feeling a bit awkward.

"Alright, alright, just call me by my name from now on."

With a wave of Lorien’s hand, Stephen finally broke into a smile. He looked at Lorien, shaking his head in disbelief.

"I should’ve known you weren’t ordinary. From the day you took away the pain in my hands, I knew you were full of mysteries."

Speaking of hands, Lorien glanced at Stephen’s.

"Your hands are better now?"

"Of course." In front of Lorien, Stephen seemed to return to his old self. He stretched out his hands and waved them, then pointed to the Eye of Agamotto hanging at his chest.

"Thanks to this."

Lorien understood—Stephen had used the Eye of Agamotto to turn back the time of his own hands to before the car accident, as if it had never happened. Only the memories remained. Stephen had already tested the theory on an apple before trying it on himself.

Since Stephen was fine now, Lorien didn’t press further. Instead, he asked with curiosity, "So, how does it feel to be the Sorcerer Supreme?"

"Hmm..." Stephen thought for a moment before answering. "Honestly, it’s a lot of pressure—especially knowing my duty is to protect Earth. Dormammu from the Dark Dimension has been watching Earth’s spiritual resources. That day, I even saw part of its true body."

"Eyes as big as the sky."

Stephen gestured to show the size, an exaggerated motion.

"I’m not even sure if that was its shrunken form," he continued. "But those eyes were terrifying."

He gestured again. Lorien could roughly understand what he meant—Dormammu was an immense source of pressure. But that was only natural. No sorcerer on Earth could face Dormammu unaided. The Ancient One had only managed it thanks to the Time Stone.

So Lorien patted Stephen on the shoulder. "Just do your best."

Stephen nodded. "Of course."

...

"Lorien~!"

Wanda floated over using magic, her luggage trailing beside her. Lorien waved to her. Seeing him, she walked over, spotted Stephen, and after a brief moment of thought, finally remembered who he was.

"Sorcerer Supreme?"

"No, no." Stephen quickly waved his hands. "Just call me Stephen."

"Really?" Wanda glanced at Lorien.

Stephen also looked at Lorien and gave a little wink. He definitely didn’t want Wanda bowing to him. After all, Wanda was Lorien’s woman, and Lorien was his godfather. Strictly speaking, that put Wanda a rank above him. Calling him Stephen was already more than friendly.

Lorien nodded in agreement. "Alright, just call him Stephen."

"Okay then, Sorcerer Stephen."

Phew... Hearing that, Stephen let out a long breath.

"Hello, Sorcerer Wanda."

"Hello."

Then, when he saw Wanda using magic to carry their luggage, Stephen immediately understood she was leaving with Lorien. He waved.

"I’ll get going then. I’ll drop by to chat when I have the time."

"Okay."

After Stephen left, Lorien looked at Wanda. "Let’s go."

"Mm!"

They walked up to the Eternal Portal Wanda had opened. Wanda stared at it and suddenly asked, "How do we close this?"

"I’ll handle it."

The two stepped through the portal and arrived at the North Tower.

Snap!

As soon as Lorien came out, he snapped his fingers, and the Eternal Portal Wanda had opened closed without a sound.

"Come on, let’s go upstairs and put the luggage away first."

They headed to the top floor to drop off their things.

Click!

The door opened. Lorien and Wanda changed into slippers before stepping inside. Lorien’s gaze swept over the carpet.

Hela was leaning back on the sofa, fully focused on her game. When she saw Lorien and Wanda return, Hela paused the game and cheered, "You’re back~!"

"We’re heading out again soon."

"Can I come?"

"No."

"Alright..."

She didn’t seem to mind and went right back to her game. At the moment, there were only two things that truly mattered to her—Lorien and gaming. The first gave her strength, the second gave her joy. In her mind, they were pretty much the same thing anyway.

Once the luggage was put away, Lorien took Wanda out again.

Wanda glanced at Hela, a hint of guilt in her voice. "Isn’t it bad to just leave her like that...?"

"Bad, my ass." Lorien shook his head. "You really think she wants to go out and play? Go shopping?"

"If she wanted to, she’d have been out ages ago with her abilities."

That made Wanda pause. She had been fooled too many times by Hela’s loli appearance, always treating her like an actual little girl.

"Alright, I get it now."

They went down to the underground garage, got into Jetfire, and drove out of the North Tower.

It was already 6 p.m. The sunset was just beginning, painting the sky over the sea in shades of red and gold.

The Ferrari cruised along the coastal highway. Lorien reached out his hand, catching Wanda’s curious gaze.

"?"

Lorien repeated to her exactly what he had once told Gwen and Hela. Sure enough, Wanda was intrigued enough to try it herself.

In the end, Lorien put his hand over hers and squeezed it against her chest.

"See?"

"You’re terrible~"

"Haha."

The Ferrari rolled leisurely down the seaside road. Wanda sat on the side facing the sunset. The golden light streamed through her hair, making it shimmer... and highlighting her long legs.

Lorien’s gaze lingered on them with undisguised appreciation.

"Wanda, have you learned magical outfit changes yet?"

"I have." She nodded. "Why?"

Hearing that, Lorien smiled, then leaned in close to her ear.

"Change into your..."
