Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 1132 - 1130: The Battle of Genesis

"Follow this mountain path, go to the platform on the first level, and then turn left."

The player leading the way said this while handing Gu Xi a map of the interior of the Barracks.

After thanking him, Gu Xi took the map and went upward.

As he stepped onto the mountain path, Gu Xi switched to his clone with the Pathfinding Skill.

With this, Gu Xi’s movement speed increased significantly.

That speed, combined with Gu Xi’s attire, made people immediately think he was a legitimate Elf Shooter player.

From Pei Xin City onward, no one believed that Gu Xi was an Undead Mage.

Gu Xi wasn’t bothered by this situation.

He was currently trying to reduce his activities to prevent excessive information leakage about him.

Having players think this way was beneficial for Gu Xi.

His walking speed on the mountain path increased until he ignored the small path and entered the forest, taking a few turns to arrive at the first-level platform of Barracks Mountain.

When players on the platform saw Gu Xi burst out of the forest, they were startled.

But upon seeing Gu Xi’s attire, they smiled without saying a word.

To them, an Elf Shooter coming out of the forest was normal.

If Gu Xi had obediently walked up the small path, they might have doubted if Gu Xi was truly an Elf Shooter.

Upon reaching the first platform, Gu Xi immediately surveyed the surroundings.

There was just a two-story building on this level.

Outside the building, some players were sitting around in small groups.

As Gu Xi looked over, these players smiled at him and then returned to their activities.

Gu Xi noticed some were sharpening their weapons, some were half-reclining and resting their eyes, and some were cooking in small pots.

Obviously, these were also players without a place to go, temporarily staying at the Barracks.

Has it gotten this intense now?

A flicker of doubt crossed Gu Xi’s mind, but he didn’t hesitate and quickly entered the building.

As he pushed open the building’s door, he saw a player with completely blue skin sitting in the hall.

Looking up at Gu Xi, he asked, "Here to report in?"

"Yes, I’ve come from Bailian City, following the Undead Mage path, at Level 10. Here are my identification documents."

Gu Xi quickly took out some documents and handed them over.

"Undead Mage? I thought you were an Elf Shooter?"

The player was surprised at first but then scrutinized Gu Xi again before taking out a new notebook to start recording.

The so-called record was to note down Gu Xi’s identity information.

Once everything was recorded, the report process was complete.

Placing the notebook down, the player said to Gu Xi, "Have you heard about the Genesis?"

"I heard about it in school."

"I see, so you don’t fully understand the Genesis process yet.

Genesis is the way the Ancestor City found to return to the real world.

Every time players in Ancestor City reach Level 30, they have to start the Genesis.

This is the price they must pay for the support Ancestor City provides them."

The player glanced at Gu Xi and began to explain.

"The process of Genesis can’t be clearly explained in external textbooks.

Only by joining can you understand what’s involved.

Usually, Genesis is divided into three stages.

The first stage involves the Level 30 player leading all participants of Genesis to the final guard post of the previous player.

There, they have to find a key item leading to the next Game World and open the path to the next Game World.

It’s like building bridges or playing checkers; you need to find objects in the current Game World related to both the current and next Game Worlds.

Only upon achieving this can the new world become the next step in the path opened by countless efforts from previous Level 30 players.

After completing this step, you move to the second stage.

In this stage, players follow the Level 30 player to conquer the newly entered world completely and to secure it.

Then they search for an item related to the next world.

Each completed world counts as a battle, and players can rest outside the Game World before joining the next battle.

This process repeats until the Genesis force led by the Level 30 player can no longer advance, leading to the third stage of Genesis.

The third stage involves the Level 30 player permanently guarding the worlds they’ve opened successfully, securing them as pathways to the real world.

This step is crucial. If the defense fails,

the constructed bridge may collapse.

For Level 30 players, they must act according to their abilities.

But more so, it’s about the strength of the players participating in Genesis with them.

If the players involved in Genesis aren’t strong enough, the Level 30 player might control fewer Game Worlds.

If the players are strong enough, the second stage can extend to more battles.

This time is a great opportunity. According to predictions by Ancestor City elders, we need to advance through seven more battles to reach the real world’s game.

Meaning, we are likely to enter the real world this time."

Seven battles?

Gu Xi thought of the situation described by the Little Fox’s divination, and suddenly asked.

"Once the second stage starts, each world is considered a battle, right?

So is a battle measured by worlds or by us?"

Listening to Gu Xi’s question, the player paused.

Gu Xi understood from the player’s reaction that he hadn’t made himself clear, so he elaborated further.

"I mean, I won’t be able to participate in every Genesis battle, correct? So, for instance, if I participate in the first world, the second world, and the fifth world.

How is my participation in battles counted?"

With this explanation, the player understood.

"Oh, so that’s what you meant. Don’t worry. The number of battles in the second stage is determined by following the leader. The opening of each world is counted as a battle, and it doesn’t concern you."

Hearing this, an idea suddenly sparked in Gu Xi’s mind.

Perhaps for the third Genesis battle, he should just skip it?
