Yueyao nodded.

After passing through the Chuihua Gate, bypassing the luxurious peony screen at the entrance, and traversing the main hall, the view suddenly opened to reveal a brightly lit and well-organized courtyard. In the center were five Upper Chambers, adorned with beautifully carved beams and painted rafters, flanked by side corridors and wing rooms, with several gorgeously dressed maids and old nannies standing in front of the hall.

Princess Wanhe came out and smiled, "Sister Yueyao, you’ve finally arrived. I was just telling my mother about you."

Upon entering the room, Yueyao noticed that the furnishings were exquisite and luxurious, though not as ostentatious as the gold bricks that paved the floors of Marquis Jingning’s Residence.

Once inside, Yueyao saw the person sitting on the couch and quickly knelt down to pay her respects, "Madam Lian Yueyao pays her respects to the Princess Consort."

Princess Consort Duan was sitting on the couch, her hair coiled up in a peony style, adorned with a hairpin holding four precious pearls and an agate gold hairpin slanted on the side, dressed in a long red gown embroidered with gold. The Princess Consort was fair-skinned with a round face and a gentle demeanor, not stunningly beautiful but very comforting to look upon.

The Princess Consort said with a laugh, "Come closer so I can take a good look at you." After carefully observing Yueyao, she smiled and said, "You look like a very fortunate child."

Yueyao felt embarrassed, "Your Highness flatters me."

The Princess Consort had summoned Yueyao regarding the Buddha Statue of the Bodhisattva. She wanted Yueyao to paint an image of the Goddess of Mercy to be enshrined in the Small Buddhist Hall. Since it was Wanhe who mentioned it, the Princess Consort naturally trusted Yueyao.

Yueyao did not decline and readily agreed.
