Chapter 861: One Step Mile
"Useless!" Jake roared, his face twisted with anger as his eyes burned with ferocity. His fingers clenched tightly around the shaft of his spear, and his entire body trembled with surging power as he infused it with a torrent of mana.
In an instant, the spear in his grip expanded at a terrifying speed, growing nearly a hundred feet long, its form resembling a coiled, vicious dragon. Mana roared along its surface like raging thunder, and a violent killing intent erupted from it.
With a sudden, ferocious throw, the spear hurtled upward, its image blurring into a phantom dragon roaring through the sky, devouring everything in its path as it clashed with the descending sword.
"Boom!"
The collision was apocalyptic. The hundred-foot spear and the three-hundred-foot sword slammed into one another with an earth-shattering impact. The sound of the clash tore through the mountains like thunder splitting the heavens apart.
An airwave, wild and unrestrained, shot hundreds of feet into the sky, flattening everything in its path. Grass and trees within a thousand feet radius disintegrated instantly, their forms reduced to ash by the sheer force, while distant mountain peaks trembled violently, their ridges cracking as if they would collapse under the terrifying pressure of the clash.
Jake’s eyes widened in disbelief as his expression twisted into one of shock and horror. He hadn’t expected Max to be capable of such raw destructive strength. ’He’s a monster...’
The thought crept into his mind unbidden, shaking the foundation of his earlier arrogance. He had assumed Max to be powerful but still beneath him.
Now, seeing the spear he’d poured everything into locked in a deadly contest with that enormous sword, Jake’s confidence faltered.
And then it got worse.
