Chapter 759: One sided slaughter
Again, Max flashed across the battlefield, moving like a bolt unleashed from the heavens. He found his third Ascendant target locked in a duel with an Eighth Level Champion Rank human expert, their clash sending out shockwaves that flattened soldiers around them.
Max’s eyes narrowed, seizing the opening in an instant. His golden sword streaked forward, tip whistling as it pierced straight through the Ascendant’s lower back, erupting out its chest in a spray of void ichor. The creature roared in pain, its claws swinging wildly, but Max twisted his wrist, pulling the sword sideways in a vicious slice that split its torso wide open.
The Ascendant stumbled, trying to turn toward him, but Max simply lifted one finger, and the last of his golden swords zipped forward like a guided missile, severing its head with a single blazing arc. The monstrous skull spun away through the air before smashing into a jagged boulder, leaving black blood smeared across the stone.
And just like that, another Ascendant was reduced to a headless corpse collapsing into the rubble of the battlefield.
All across the Second Circle, whispers and gasps spread like wildfire as warriors turned to look upon the white-haired young man who was cutting down Ascendants as if he were harvesting stalks of grain.
’If I wasn’t using light energy, it would probably take me the full strength of my sword concept and sword techniques to bring them down... but with light energy, they’re just ants waiting for me to kill them,’ Max thought, his eyes glimmering coldly amidst the infernal storm raging through the Second Circle battlefield.
His golden sword sliced downward in one seamless arc, splitting another towering Ascendant clean in half from crown to groin. Black void ichor sprayed into the air like a fountain, sizzling and evaporating as it touched the divine light, and the two halves of the creature’s corpse crashed to the ground with a bone-rattling thud, limbs still twitching as golden sparks danced across the severed flesh.
From all corners of the battlefield, horrified gasps and incredulous whispers erupted, threading through the shrieks of combat and the relentless clash of weapons.
"Is he even human at this point? He’s killing Ascendants like it’s nothing!" shouted a bloodied hunter, staring with wide eyes as Max stepped over the latest corpse, his sword already shifting to the next target.
"Damn it, who the hell is he?! Since when did a genius like this show up in the Middle Domain?!" bellowed another expert, gripping his spear so tightly his knuckles turned white.
"They’re Ascendants—not just any normal Nulls—but he’s slaughtering them like cattle. How is he doing this?!" cried a expert from one of the seven overlord forces, sweat dripping down his temple as he watched in raw disbelief.
"Monster... he’s a complete monster!" someone else whispered, voice trembling as though speaking an unholy secret.
