Chapter 733: Stealing
Max arrived before the looming, jagged maw of the cave, its entrance framed by dark stone slick with moisture and faintly glowing veins of electric-blue minerals that pulsed like a heartbeat under the restless flicker of lightning outside.
According to the vivid memories he’d stolen from Blake, this was precisely where the Lightning Ten Legs Spider had made its lair—a beast shrouded in both mystery and terror.
But just as Max was about to advance further, his keen ears picked up distant echoes rolling out from deep within the tunnel.
Boom! Bang!
The sounds reverberated like thunder through the winding cavern walls, rattling loose dust and pebbles from the ceiling above.
’Sounds of battle?’ Max thought, his eyes narrowing as a flicker of urgency passed through his expression. Without wasting another second, he slipped into the cave’s shadows, his aura wrapped tightly in his Green Soul’s cloak, his movements silent as moonlight.
He made sure not to disturb so much as a single pebble, choosing instead to teleport himself forward in careful, measured steps, vanishing and reappearing deeper and deeper into the labyrinthine tunnels, guided by the growing roar of combat echoing ahead.
Before long, he emerged into a massive chamber hidden at the heart of the cave—a colossal underground vault lit by countless jagged stalactites shimmering with trapped lightning.
At the center of the chaos, a monstrous creature reared up on ten spindly, segmented legs, each one crackling with arcs of savage purple lightning. Its body was a hideous armored mass, glistening black and veined with flickering light, and from its grotesque head glowered ten malevolent eyes, glowing like hellish stars.
