Chapter 721: Meeting Others
Outside the shuttle, the sky was a turbulent canvas of black and violet, streaked with bolts of lightning that struck the ground every few seconds. It was like a never-ending thunderstorm had taken root over the land itself.
The terrain below was barren and scorched, rocks split and charred from years of constant lightning strikes. The atmosphere crackled with raw power, and the very air carried the scent of burnt metal and ozone.
"I can’t take the void shuttle too deep into the region," Arlen explained, bringing the shuttle to a gradual stop as it hovered above a cliff that overlooked the stormy region. "The lightning here isn’t just natural—it interferes with spatial tools. We’ll have to walk from here."
With that, the shuttle descended and gently landed on the edge of the barren plain.
As the hatch opened and the harsh wind from the region swept into the shuttle, Max stepped out with the others. The sky above them rumbled like a living beast, and the land ahead was bathed in flashes of violet and crimson lightning. Max could feel the lightning energy in the air—it wasn’t just natural, it was wild and alive.
He took a deep breath, his eyes narrowing as the storm howled above.

"I want to collect lightning essence stones," Max said, his voice steady despite the rumbling thunder overhead. Sparks glimmered in his eyes as stray arcs of lightning snaked around his body, attracted to the natural affinity of his lightning concept. "Please gather as many as you can. I’m not expecting a huge number. Even one or two each would be good enough for today. We have time to keep coming back until I get what I need."
He didn’t give them a specific number knowing lightning essence stones were quite rare. If each one of them fine just one or two in the entire day, it would be enough for the day and they had enough time to collect all lightning essence stones Max required.
