Standing above, Jiang Yulian watched with an alarmed heart; with one hand holding a child and the other slowly forming a Water Arrow, she knew she would definitely assist if things went awry.
Sitting in his chair, Ling Ye was evidently much calmer; his small body leaped from the chair, turned to face the Empress, and said in an unusually tranquil voice, "Can’t you just let us leave directly?"
"No, everyone must atone for their sins," the Empress replied crisply. Ling Ye turned to look at Old Dao and another man about to approach Su Mo, his mouth opening and closing, sweetly saying, "Stop."
Suddenly, their bodies started moving uncontrollably. Old Dao, just having drawn his knife, froze mid-step, and incredulously watched as his foot slowly retracted.
It wasn’t just him; the burly man beside him also lost control of his body simultaneously.

The pair’s strange behavior quickly drew the crowd’s confusion; people continuously gathered around Old Dao and the other man, patting their hands or chests, but external disturbances didn’t disturb their immovable postures.
