Chapter 60: You better not lay a single finger on this lady again, you bastard!
"Arrrhh....!!"
Ophis’s scream echoed sharply down the narrow, rocky path like a dying animal’s cry. Her pale face was a mess of bruises and fresh burns as UV light pierced down on her like sunlight on a cursed creature. Her skin hissed and steamed, smoke coiling off her cheeks and arms as though she were being slow-cooked alive.
Her body shook uncontrollably, legs quivering beneath her. She collapsed to her knees, eyes watering not just from the pain but the sheer indignity of being brought this low. Yet even with smoke rising from her face, her expression wasn’t broken — no, it was filled with that same stubborn cold indifference.
Leo finally stopped walking. His fists were clenched, jaw tight, as if he’d been holding back for too long.
"Just tell me already!"
Ophis, panting, barely lifted her head. Her skin was peeling, charred, and blistered — and yet her eyes were those of a damn stone.
She didn’t answer. Not even a grunt. Just stared at him like he was some annoying pebble in her shoe.
"Tsk..."
Leo clicked his tongue, visibly irritated. Honestly, this was getting ridiculous. He wasn’t even sure who was torturing whom anymore.
If anything, he was the one feeling guilty for hurting her this badly.
And she still wouldn’t talk?
