Chapter 143: The Emperor’s Signature
Adam considered the Principal’s words. He thought about the bureaucratic wall the old man had just erected in front of him.
For a moment a genuine silence fell over the vast auditorium.
Everyone waited to see how this defiant newcomer would respond to such a seemingly insurmountable obstacle.
How could he possibly get ten professors to sign for him when he had just angered them all?
Then an idea a brilliant and audacious solution came to Adam. A slow knowing smile spread across his face.
He looked up at the Principal on the stage.
His expression was once again one of complete unshakeable confidence.
"Yes, you are correct Principal," Adam acknowledged. His voice was calm and reasonable not at all angry or frustrated.
"If I cannot obtain the signatures of ten professors the staff members and yourself then my group The New Warriors cannot be officially formed. I was aware that there would be... difficulties in my plan." He paused for a moment letting the tension in the room build. He was enjoying this. "But for this particular problem," he continued his smile widening slightly "I have a rather elegant solution."
All the professors on the stage all the students in the audience and even the Principal himself leaned forward a little in their seats. Their curiosity was piqued.
They all wanted to know. What possible solution could this boy have for such a clear and absolute institutional roadblock? The rules were the rules.
