Chapter 101: New Sights in Practice
A short while later Eric and Alina found themselves in a quiet garden.
It was within the vast grounds of the Imperial Palace.
It was a secluded less frequented area. Not many people came here. This suited Eric perfectly. He knew that word of the recent events in the council chamber had likely spread throughout the entire palace.
Especially his own... dramatic actions. Many kings and important people from other kingdoms were still present in the Imperial capital.
And Eric who had been weak and unremarkable for most of his childhood had no experience with being famous. He also had no desire for being in the limelight being the center of attention.
The sheer scale of the Empire its dense population of people and the evident wealth and sophistication of its citizens made Eric feel very aware of his own perceived shortcomings.
He felt small and unimportant here. He generally preferred to avoid drawing attention to himself. He liked to be quiet and unnoticed.
However the [System Window]’s suggestion to check his newfound power after Adam’s takeover coupled with the pressing need to prepare for the Academy’s physical entrance exam had overcome his usual reluctance his shyness.
He had come to this garden with Alina. It was a place where they could practice their skills undisturbed by curious eyes.
