Chapter 416 - 410: Arriving Home
Leon didn’t know how long he had been sleeping, but he awoke leisurely, his mind clearer than ever before.
Ever since he underwent Bone Shedding and Rebirth and acquired Extraordinary Essence, fatigue and hunger were no longer relevant to him. Nowadays, sleep and meals are purely for enjoyment rather than necessity, much like how no one can resist a feast or the comfort of a winter’s nap.
Leon waved his hand, and a rift appeared out of thin air. He reached inside and retrieved the Plane Talisman. The lustrous glow indicated it was fully charged and ready for use at any moment. However, he only toyed with it briefly before putting it away.
Compared to returning, when he could go back anytime, he wasn’t particularly inclined to do so. He was more interested in figuring out where he had been accidentally teleported to. Was it some corner of this plane or another plane altogether? With his current power, he had no concerns about safety, regardless of which plane he found himself in.
Spreading his wings and soaring into the air, Leon surveyed the land below him and easily spotted a peaceful town nestled by a meandering river. He landed outside the town and transformed into his human form, becoming a young man with black hair and eyes full of allure.
After some inquiries, Leon wasn’t sure whether to consider himself lucky or unlucky.
He hadn’t been teleported to a chaotic plane; he returned to the same plane he’d always inhabited, just within Empire territory, a fair distance from his Zhen Dan Kingdom.
Having visited the Star Realm, Bottomless Abyss, and Nine Prisons, rested upon the corpse of a deceased deity, and raced across Aphnas’s wasteland in a Devil’s Vehicle, his horizon had vastly expanded. To his eyes, the Mortal World had lost its charm, and the Empire felt the same—as though someone returning from a bustling metropolis now sees their hometown as rather dull and unremarkable.
Nevertheless, Leon was still quite interested in wandering around, drinking beer at the lakeside town, and savoring delicacies at Saran Castle not too far away.
He quite liked Saran Castle; the mountain town was remarkably unique, built to nestle against the mountainside with connected houses. The roof of one house might serve as the courtyard of the next, providing a tiered, stacked view from afar. You could walk from the foot of the mountain all the way to the top along its winding lightning-like streets.
After staying in Saran Castle for two days, Leon felt his mood had greatly improved, the influence of the Abyss’s decay nearly completely faded. He then turned into a rainbow, streaking across the sky, and returned to his Zhen Dan Kingdom, landing in the lively plaza of Watchtower Port.
