Chapter 397 - 391: The Unlucky 6-Armed Snake Demon
To avoid being disturbed by the omnipresent demons in Pazuniya, Leon found a rocky mountain without any Flo Demons inhabiting it, dug a hole, and hid inside.
This reminded him of his life as a baby dragon, and he suddenly thought about digging a network of tunnels on the Volcanic Island when he returned... Salovis’s lair was built inside a cave, so he could just visit her lair instead of going through all that trouble.
Leon now had an exceptional memory. Before traversing, he couldn’t memorize a hundred English words after a whole day’s effort and often forgot them all by the next day. Now, he could memorize things flawlessly after just one look. What remained was the practice of actual application, which required constant communication to improve—mastering spoken language wasn’t something that could be achieved by merely reading books.
In any case, Leon now could listen, speak, and write in Abyss Language, ready to go out and explore.
Leon left the cave where he’d stayed for several days, spread his wings, and flew higher and higher, suddenly thinking of the Sky Lord of the Bottomless Abyss, Pazuzu.
Pazuzu had always ruled the skies of Pazuniya, eager to seek out new innocent and pure beings to corrupt and ultimately destroy. When lawful good characters traveled in Pazuniya, there was a daily chance of attracting his attention.
Leon certainly wasn’t of the lawful good alignment, and even if he were, he wouldn’t fear Pazuzu. He snapped out of his thoughts, focused on the task at hand, and looked down at Pazuniya, searching for his next destination.
From high above, it wasn’t difficult to spot the many massive pits in Pazuniya that extended into the deeper, more terrifying layers.
These pits were entrances to Teleportation Gates leading to deeper layers of the Bottomless Abyss. Those who jumped into them quickly found themselves on the connected layer. Most pits acted as two-way portals, but quite a few were one-way only, offering no return.
