The Kraken did not want to die. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have decisively abandoned its lair of countless years and fled when it realized it couldn’t defeat Leon, even escaping from the North Sea to the far-off Flash Sea—a journey that took over half a month.
After about ten minutes, the Kraken laboriously lifted its head, gazing at Leon, and used telepathy: "If I promise you, will you let me go?"
"Is that agreement?" Leon smiled. "Good, those who adapt to circumstances are the wise."
"As for when you can leave..." Leon’s eyes swept over the Kraken. "After I dig out your heart... The Kraken has four hearts; as long as I don’t take them all out, you won’t die. Then, I’ll drain just a little blood."
"I have no way to resist you now, do I?" The Kraken panted heavily. "Do what you will, then let me go."
"After losing the extra hearts and blood, you’ll enter a weakened state. I’ll allow you to stay here and provide enough food for you," Leon said. "As you can see, I’m a merciful person."
"No need." The Kraken only wanted to leave now.
Leon understood the Kraken’s sentiments and didn’t delay in extracting the Kraken’s Heart. One of its hearts had stopped beating during their recent battle, so he harvested two Kraken Hearts and drained some of its blood.
