Chapter 317 - 312: Seeing a Ghost
"Where are you? I’ll come find you right now."
Leon hadn’t expected that he would receive a message from Isily through the Communication Stone.
The Communication Stone wasn’t like a phone; it couldn’t handle casual conversations or endless chatter. Each use allowed only a single message, making it even less convenient than a telegram. Because of this limitation, Leon couldn’t ask Isily why she was looking for him. He had only two choices: refuse her outright or tell her his location—his reply had to be to the point.
Leon glanced left and right, checking his surroundings to figure out where exactly he was.
After leaving Bern, he had been flying northward, planning to visit the Crown Glacier. Along the way, however, he’d been drawn to a Frost Giant city deep within the Frozen Soil Wilderness. A Frost Giant city—it was nothing like the Lost Plateau, which only had some scattered Frost Giant villages.
That Frost Giant city had plenty of intriguing sights to see. Leon planned to stay there for some time, so he decisively picked up the Communication Stone and replied to Isily, telling her his current location while adding that he wouldn’t stay there too long.
After sending the message, Leon immediately stored the Communication Stone and transformed back into a snow owl.
The Frost Giants weren’t his main interest; Leon was curious about the mounts and pets of the Frost Giants.
Back in the Lost Plateau, he’d seen Frost Giants tame Centipede Demons, but this was the first time he saw them tame Tara Beasts. These creatures looked like horses the size of elephants, with six legs, snowy-white fur, and heads broader than those of horses. They were aggressive, wielding massive horns and razor-sharp tusks like blades.
A troop of Frost Giants riding Tara Beasts and armed with long spears looked incredibly formidable.
Besides the Tara Beasts, Leon also saw a White Dragon—a White Dragon tamed by the Frost Giants.
