Chapter 311 - 306: Lure and Kidnap
Leon only chased for a while before he stopped.
He had to admit, his current Green Dragon form could adapt to both land and water, but it wasn’t an aquatic dragon after all, and no matter how hard he tried, his swimming speed couldn’t compare to the Kraken that lived in the sea all year round.
Only what you have in your hands is truly real. Leon absolutely refused to admit that he was drawn in by the Kraken’s treasure... That Kraken, with nothing better to do, loved attacking ships and dragging them back to its lair in the deep sea. There had to be plenty of merchant ships among those vessels, and undoubtedly, plenty of treasures.
Wagging his tail, Leon swam toward the Kraken’s lair. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed the twisted corpse of the Storm Predecessor and thought to himself: The Storm Predecessor’s heart is a rare alchemy material, and its entire body is full of rare alchemy materials. Making a decisive turn, he swam straight toward the corpse.
Leon dug into the corpse of the Storm Predecessor for its valuable parts before heading to the Kraken’s lair, scouring through it meticulously. Aside from Gold Coins and gemstones, he couldn’t find anything particularly valuable.
"What a cheapskate," Leon cursed, thinking that perhaps the Kraken didn’t have the habit of hoarding treasures. Besides, this lair was in the deep sea; even if there had been something valuable, it had probably long been ruined by the seawater. For instance, he saw numerous paintings reduced to just frames, rusted weapons, and equipment... Even Magic Equipment required upkeep. Well, maybe being broke made sense.
By now, Leon was a veteran at treasure-raiding and quickly packed up all the Kraken’s treasures before wagging his tail and heading toward the water’s surface.
The old Green Dragon seemed a bit too flashy. Leon hesitated briefly before transforming... It’s better to become a seabird, less conspicuous but still strong enough. Preventing curious predators from getting any ideas, he flapped his wings and took off, looking in all directions but only seeing endless ocean.
As long as you fly in one direction, you’ll eventually find land. But he still had to go to the Belen Kingdom to find Adra. His main purpose for venturing out this time was to locate him and bring him back to Watchtower Port.
Thinking this way, Leon flapped his wings vigorously and climbed to an altitude of over a thousand meters in less than a minute. From such a height, it was easy to spot land, though he wasn’t sure if it belonged to the Belen Kingdom or the Empire.
Leon suddenly noticed it. Above his head, a teenage Silver Dragon was circling—it looked like Isily. He hadn’t expected her to still be here. Without overthinking, he quickly flew closer and landed on her back.
