Tale of the Red Dragon Without Dragon’s Might

Chapter 250 - 248: A Great, Great Harvest

After a Vampire’s death, the Vampires it has created do not perish along with it. Even the Derivatives it created won’t die. On the contrary, they at last gain their freedom.

When Envis died, the White Night Guards he created did not die with him. Aside from two particularly loyal Vampires who tried avenging him by harassing Leon—only to be obliterated to ash by Leon’s Hand Palm Bomb—the rest scattered and fled. Leon didn’t bother chasing them down one by one; it was simply too much hassle.

Envis left behind quite a haul of spoils. His weapons and shield were guaranteed to be rare-tier, if not legendary-tier. Beyond that, his cloak, gloves, boots, and rings were all Magic Items. Unfortunately, all his Potions and scrolls were destroyed in the battle.

Unless one doesn’t care about loot, the Samadhi True Fire should be used sparingly. Though not as lethal as the Samadhi True Fire, the Hand Palm Bomb still packs a decent amount of power.

A quick sweep of the spoils—there’s nothing more important than looting corpses.

Leon could never forget Castanin and Haken as he soared forward, reserving his Mana instead of casting Spells, flapping his wings with a powerful charge. He landed directly in front of the two, grabbed Castanin without a word, and slammed him into the ground, smashing the Undead Admiral into a pulp of gore.

"I surrender! I surrender!" Haken had long since fallen to his knees, now raising his hands in defeat.

Envis had been a formidable foe—not only agile and resilient but also a high-level Spellcaster who had mastered immensely powerful Spells like Time Stop. Even the Storage Dragon Tassera seemed like a mere rookie in comparison to him.

If not for the Hand Palm Bomb, which excelled at targeting Undead Creatures, he would have been very difficult to defeat. A war of attrition would have likely been futile. Of course, if things became truly dire, Leon could always ensure his escape with ease.

Having conquered such a formidable enemy, Leon was in high spirits. Castanin had dared to insult and provoke him and was, therefore, marked for death. As for the others, their survival was negotiable. That’s why Leon didn’t immediately attack Haken. Instead, he said, "Surrender is fine, but first, you must prove your worth."

Leon might be a bad guy, but that didn’t stop him from wanting good people as friends—or useful underlings. In this case, Haken had attacked him first, retreated upon realizing he was losing, and had apparently failed to check his ego altogether—his mind worked a little too quickly.
