Tale of the Red Dragon Without Dragon’s Might

Leon isn’t exactly socially anxious; he can interact with anyone. However, he really dislikes negotiating. Before he crossed over, his daily shopping trips never involved haggling, which is why he avoided small markets and mom-and-pop shops—places where not negotiating meant you’d be seen as easy prey. Even for two people married, there should be clear boundaries regarding property. What’s yours is yours, and what’s mine is mine. Don’t randomly add names to the deed for a house—much less between two dragons. Leon had acknowledged Tassera’s status as his mate but never thought of her belongings as his own.

The shop that got robbed was hers, not his. Meanwhile, Tassera was quite headstrong in her personality. Leon helped her intimidate the Watchtower Port guardians of the Oasis City, experiencing firsthand what it felt like to threaten and wreck a city, all while keeping himself out of the fray.

"You’re a Blue Dragon, and I’m a Blue Dragon Vein Mage. The blood of Blue Dragons runs through me too... We might even be distantly related," the Dragon Vein Mage tried to establish rapport with Tassera, as was his habit.

Tassera simply smiled without confirming anything. She said, "Let’s get down to business."

Tassera shared all the details of the incidents she had encountered.

"You’re the owner of the store..." Tassera’s shop was somewhat well-known among adventurers. The Dragon Vein Mage had heard something about it—if not the entire story, at least bits and pieces. "We will ensure justice is served, and evil will not escape unpunished."

The Dragon Vein Mage seemed to want to say something but hesitated. Tassera decisively declared, "Until I get my belongings back, no one is allowed to leave. There’s no room for negotiation."

"If you find this to be a problem..." Tassera glanced at the Red Dragon. She thought to herself that her best investment over the years was in him. Time had proven she had chosen wisely. "You’re welcome to talk to him about it."
