Chapter 249: Your Friend?
Mrs. Annette deeply sighed. She smiled cynically at Olive and turned around, returning to the house.
Before Olive and Loui could leave, they could hear the faint, cold conversation between the mother and her eldest daughter.
"Mother, Father will kill you if he finds out you are still looking for Olga. He has told you to let it go. She’s probably dead somewhere out there. I mean, it’s been a year," the eldest daughter said.
Mrs. Annette refuted, "May the heavens forbid such!! Your sister is not dead, Lucy. Stop saying such horrid things."
"Urgh, who even cares?" The eldest daughter scoffed. "You really think that even if you find her, father will let her in that easily? After the abomination she committed? She nearly murdered Mr. Marcel. It was the talk of the whole town, which left us in shame for so many months. Gosh, stop dreaming so far, Mother! If anything, it is good that she is gone and we don’t have to see her face anymore. She causes us nothing but trouble!"
But Olive and Loui had already walked off, unable to hear the last few sentences in the mother-daughter conversation.

Loui looked at his watch as he boarded the taxi with Olive.
It was currently still eight p.m., meaning that if they arrived at Mr. Marcel’s address before ten p.m., they would be able to meet him. Hopefully, there won’t be any traffic. Humans tend to have a lot of that.
"Loui." Olive abruptly spoke.
Loui glanced at him. "What? Is something wrong?"
