A Game Of Chess With A Vampire

Chapter 46: It’s A Bet On Fate

Loui and Pierre peeked at her, wondering why Olive was the only one she had responded to so far.

"Next is..." Draven pointed at the poker-faced guy who stood beside Olive. "Prince. He is the second rook, and his ability is invisibility. Oh, he only speaks French as well, but he understands basic English."

"Ravi de vous rencontrer, ma dame," the young man, Prince, greeted emotionlessly.

His ethereal white hair was tied into a short bun, leaving a few strands out. His reddish lips were a bit thin, and his silvery eyes glistened with no sentiment. He was very tall and lean in comparison to Olive.

Avelina nodded at him with a smile on her face, not sure how to respond to him. He looked tired and sort of pissed. His eyes were lazily hanging low.

"He is not tired or annoyed, Avelina. That is his normal expression," Draven, who could tell what was going on in her mind, clarified.

Avelina glimpsed him, suddenly realizing that their expressions had a bit of a similarity. The only difference was that Draven always looked rather uninterested and neutral, while Prince’s expression was more of "I am tired, pissed, and too lazy to speak. Don’t talk to me."

Draven moved on, saying, "This is Lucien. She is a werewolf and a knight. She doesn’t really have an ability since she is of a different race, but she does possess something that is like an ability."

"She had trained her body to the point that it became immune to any sort of poison, thus, she has developed the intelligence and passion to concoct any form of poison and even make a recipe of her own. They call her a poison master."

"At your service, my lady." Lucien smiled pleasantly.

Avelina acknowledged with a charming smile. "Nice to meet you."
