Beneath the Alpha's Moon

Chapter 150: Bullets and Knives

TERESA’S P.O.V.

The mansion loomed before me as I sprinted through the double doors, my heart hammering against my ribs. Every step echoed with my fears, my mind racing back to Mai, to the witches, to the helplessness that had once consumed me that day. The mere thought of my innocent angels being taken from me again was enough to make my heart seize. Not this time.

"Adam! Max!" I called out, my voice steady despite the storm of panic threatening to swallow me whole.

"We’re here, Teresa," Max’s voice boomed from behind me as he and Adam burst through the door, their expressions grim and determined.

"upstairs, now," I ordered, my voice sharper than I’d intended. They didn’t question me. They knew what was at stake.

We moved as one, my bare feet pounding against the cold floor as we ascended the stairs. The dim light flickered, shadows dancing ominously along the walls. My heart skipped when I reached my room door, dread pooling in my stomach.

"Katrina!" I shouted, slamming the door open.

Inside, Katrina stood by the crib, her hands protectively cradling the twins. Her face was pale but calm, her sharp eyes scanning me as I stopped just short of the crib.

"They’re fine, Teresa," she said softly.

Relief slammed into me like a tidal wave, and I staggered, my knees threatening to give way. I rushed forward, my trembling hands brushing over the soft cheeks of my babies.

"They’re okay," I whispered, my voice breaking.
