TERESA’S POV
The air between us felt clouded, and heavy with anticipation as Lucian led me to the edge of the bed. My legs brushed against it, and in one fluid motion, he nudged me back until I sank onto the mattress. His intense gaze made me feel like I was under a spotlight, every nerve in my body buzzing with awareness. It wasn’t fear or anxiety—it was something deeper, sharper, a thrill pulsing through me like electricity.
I glanced up, my heart hammering as I took in his impossibly handsome face, flushed slightly with excitement. There was something almost dangerous in his eyes, a silent promise of what was to come.
I don’t think I’ve ever been this nervous in my life.
Lucian Blackwood—untouchable, impossibly attractive, maddeningly sarcastic—was right here. And somehow, I was on his bed. How I hadn’t fainted or made a fool of myself by now was beyond me.
He watched me, his green eyes smoldering with an intensity that was both intimidating and exhilarating.
His hand slid to my waist. His touch was warm—almost scorching. I could feel my pulse jump, and my cheeks flush. He must’ve noticed, because his smirk deepened, and his gaze softened ever so slightly before he masked it with that arrogant tilt of his head, making it clear he was still the one in control.
"Relax, Teresa," he murmured, chuckling softly. "I don’t bite. Much."
My heart raced so fast I was certain he could feel it. Maybe he even heard it, because his gaze flickered to my lips before returning to my eyes, and something shifted in the space between us—something electric, like the calm before a storm.
"Teresa." His voice softened, his usual sarcasm replaced by something... different. He leaned in close enough that his breath brushed against my cheek. His scent— something wild—filled my senses. "Tell me what you want."
