Chapter 116 - 117: Meeting Father
The cleanup that Cail had called for finally arrived. After they cleaned up the body, Cail walked away with his loot.
They didn’t bring much—just some junk artifacts that could be used in daily life as tools. There were a few books and an ominous-looking token that seemed to be sucking the energy out of the carrier.
"They probably didn’t know this either." Cail surveyed the ominous token. It slowly corroded the void energy of the carrier and ate them from the inside.
The token was made out of an unknown kind of metal. It was black, with a carving of the sun on it. The sun should be a symbol of brilliance—why was this token so dark?
For some reason, he remembered the legend that Iven had talked about. It should be Illunis, right? The dead Sun God?
"I should look into legends about gods. Since void energy exists, then maybe some of those legends are real."
He was quick to take action. He stopped at an open store and bought some books. He sat on an empty park bench and continued reading.
To be honest, he wasn’t expecting anything while reading the book, but he did discover something disturbing—it was about the gods and their deaths.
There were different generations of gods. Cail realized that every god couldn’t last for more than 10,000 years. They would all be killed for random reasons. It was like a natural cleansing.
