Chapter 70 - 71: This Is Fun
The ice coffin creaked. The abomination inside was silent. He was staring at Cail. If it weren’t for the ice, he would have jumped at Cail and bitten him.
Looking at those foggy eyes, Cail knew that although this man could communicate, he was probably not that sane anymore. After all those years of imprisonment and torture, one would be surprised to know how much a person’s views could change.
"You’re not saying anything anymore?" Cail knocked on the coffin.
That knock triggered something. The abomination slammed his head again and again inside the ice.
Cail noticed that he seemed to be weakened after his body was sliced. I guess that’s a good discovery.
"Why are you so agitated? Not being able to fulfill Virehn’s orders... do you think he will still continue to give you what he promised?"
"So," Cail said lightly, "you still sulking there?"
"You know, even if you’re not, I’d say you’re pouting." His tone softened. It sounded very sweet... just like the tone he used when talking to Sellene before. "Poor little thing, left out in this barren world. Forgotten... Do you think Virehn will sit there and reminisce about his old project?"
The abomination quieted down. Cail didn’t care what it was thinking, but he continued, "You know what? The first time we saw you, what we first felt was pity. How pathetic! A monster that doesn’t strike fear into humans’ hearts."
