Psychic Overlord

Chapter 107: Second Testing Session 1

"That’s fine, but I also want to know why Davion can turn an S-class esper into a lifeless doll and no one bats an eye." Kaizer put the knowledge of the Alpha City clans to his mind and then asked the Dean.

Dean Rochester nodded. "I did some research on this after I brought you back. Apparently, Eleanor was a first-generation esper who was raised in an orphanage and grew up relatively poor. Her S-class esper ability was Chrono Reflex, a unique new power that granted her the ability to utilize a form of time skip, time acceleration, and precognition to fight."

Kaizer’s eyebrows shot up. No wonder she had so easily dealt with him despite his enhanced telekinetic ability; she was not charging at him by running very fast like Soren or Bjorn, but rather skipping the time it took to reach him.

Likewise, every punch she threw was accelerated from the moment she launched it to the moment she struck, increasing the lethal force and making it almost unavoidable.

Thinking about the number of times that Kaizer had managed to actually evade such blows by a hair’s breadth, he couldn’t help but regain a bit of confidence in himself.

"What led to her becoming like that was that she was found through an accident by a member of the Supreme Force. As you might be aware, not every esper attends the academy during their lifetime, and it’s not a hard requirement for any esper to."

"She was taken in by the Supreme Force, who intended to train her as a candidate for the strongest to replace Reaper, but during her first mission, she was reported to have deserted, leading to the death of her entire team. As it stands, before you came back, there was a wanted order for her." The Dean elaborated slowly.

Kaizer’s expression shifted to solemnity. "How could the clans be so... audacious?"

Deserter? Nonsense, it was likely that a younger Davion took a fancy to Eleanor and launched an ambush along with some clan elders to subdue Eleanor and then transform her into a doll while slaughtering her team to put it all on her head.

The Supreme Force was clueless about this and even put a wanted order on her? Or were they truly clueless? The wanted order could also be an answer to those friends Eleanor made who doubted that she would do this.

If Davion never brought her out and never monologued crazily about her origins, no one would have known. In fact, Davion only did that because he was confident in dealing with Kaizer there and then, so he felt that there was no problem in ’dead men telling no tales’.
