Chapter 94: The Battle of Al-Rafid 6
Despite the situation, he was not about to give up. Vargas lunged forward, his powerful frame moving like a coiled spring unleashed as flames exploded behind him.
His right fist shot out in a straight and powerful hook backed by his flame enhancement, aiming to shatter the ice formations hindering his movement.
Crystal Ice barely shifted in response to this attack. With a flick of her wrist, a wall of translucent ice erupted between them, forcing Vargas to either halt or crash straight into it.
Vargas gritted his teeth with anger. As an offensive fighter who used his flames to enhance his physical attacks, he had never suffered as much before as he did fighting this woman, and it was all because of those damned ice walls!
Not only did hitting them yield almost nothing since she could just conjure another one, but her blasted ice was like a toxin, sticking to him after a single touch. That was why his body was covered with ice in places, and his flames could barely suppress them.
Despite this, Vargas didn’t hesitate in the end as his fist struck the ice wall, sending cracks racing across its surface, but as expected, the cold latched onto him instantly. A web of frost crawled up his forearm, biting deep into his muscles, causing instant frostbite while insidiously seeking to chill his very bone marrow.
Vargas ignored the pain that he had gotten used to during this battle and ejected a large portion of the invading frost with intense flames. Seeing that the wall hadn’t shattered like before due to his declining strength, Vargas pivoted on his back foot, rebuilding momentum which he infused into a left uppercut, aiming to break through.
Crystal Ice simply extended a finger.
The cracked wall immediately shattered—not from Vargas’s actions, but on Crystal Ice’s command—splintering into a barrage of razor-sharp shards. These frozen daggers hovered in mid-air for a few seconds before Crystal Ice flicked her finger forward, making them race towards their target while cutting through the air with a chilling whistle.
