Psychic Overlord

Chapter 79: Divine Cognitive Order

Kaizer was currently within the library of the Esper Academy, flipping through books about psychic espers in history and their various achievements. He was curious to know where the limit lay for pure psychics who did not have a ’cheat’ like he did, if one could call it that.

Books silently hovered around him as he flipped multiple pages at once, using telekinesis to read the content in them. This created a somewhat magical scene straight out of a movie about wizards, with ’lively’ tomes darting around Kaizer, emerging from shelves on their own, coming to circle around him, their pages flipping rapidly then whirring back to the shelf from which they came.

Even in the Esper Academy of all places, Kaizer’s actions drew attention, but many recognized him as the S-class student who was mentored by the dean, said to become the future strongest esper. Looking at him now, he was a bit handsome, but was that enough to stand atop the world?

"Hm?" Kaizer lifted his head, noticing a group of people coming close to his table.

Kaizer’s eyes narrowed as he took in the sight of the approaching group. Five individuals, each mismatched in age and appearance, walked in formation, their expressions solemn, their steps synchronized.

The way they moved exuded an air of self-importance, as if they were marching to reveal a sacred truth to the world.

Kaizer already had a bad feeling about this.

They came to a stop before his table, dramatically clasping their hands behind their backs like members of some clandestine order.

One of them, a lanky young man with neatly combed hair and thick-rimmed glasses, stepped forward, his face serious. He adjusted his glasses with an exaggerated flourish, the library’s dim lighting reflecting off the lenses in a suspiciously dramatic way.

"We finally found you... Kaizer, the Awakening of the Great Mind!" he declared, his voice carrying a weight as if he had just uncovered the identity of the messiah.

Kaizer blinked, unsure if he had heard correctly. "...Excuse me?"
