Chapter 75: Mission End
"Eh, not too bad, Lunin boy. I was about to suggest that you control them, but you seem to have your head wrapped around solidly." Blaze nodded his head with satisfaction.
He then glanced at the silent Sadistic Flame and Crystal Ice nonchalantly. "Well, we don’t have all day. Blow up the heads of these two already and head back so your damn mentor can leave me alone."
Kaizer glanced at the two women who wore pleading looks, the desperation and despair clear on their faces. They had never been so beholden to the whim of another person ever since they had awoken thanks to their A-grade abilities and the scarcity of S-grade espers to challenge them.
"No, wait! Your esper name is Overlord, right? Well, what does an overlord need? Naturally, it is some subordinates who can fulfill his tasks in an efficient manner, and we can do that for you!" Sadistic Flame suggested hurriedly, sweat forming on her brow.
"Oh?" Blaze muttered with interest, no longer interfering with how things were proceeding.
Meanwhile, Kaizer’s brows furrowed again. He was not too keen on the idea of building a faction by relying on his mental control abilities because if he branded them, they could be freed later on if they met someone like Carl, who was a powerful telepath.
That would also make his secrets beholden to the telepath who gained access to them, and if they served him as subordinates, it was likely that they would come into contact with some of his deeper secrets.
On top of that, they had their own network of friends, family, and contacts who would definitely take note of them suddenly spending all their time near an S-class esper still in the academy. Were those people supposed to pretend it was normal?
Finally, this was not an anime. Kaizer had no interest in being a hidden boss who lived in the shadows while a bunch of suspiciously beautiful and voluptuous women in skintight bodysuits did most of the work for him.
Putting everything aside, how would Rina react once he brought these two women, who were a decade older than him, to their villa? Even worse, if he controlled them and hid them from Rina, she would inevitably find out one day, and the consequences would not be worth the trouble.
Kaizer’s expression was as placid as usual, but the one who was truly stoic here, Crystal Ice, could seemingly read something from his body language to see that things weren’t going well for their survival.
