Chapter 80: The Bite.
"The... the same..."
Lara muttered the word as she stared at him absentmindedly. The rosy color covering her cheeks seemed to grow more prominent and she couldn’t bring herself to meet his gaze for long.
’Ah, this is going to be troublesome...’
The calm and stoic Lara was acting all shy as she struggled to make a request. The sight was too adorable, so much so that Mark had to look away and cover the smile creeping on his face.
’Calm down, damn it!’ He yelled inwardly. ’This is a serious matter!’
Mark thought his words thoroughly and glanced at the silver-haired maid.
"I don’t know the exact amount, but I can try giving you some of my blood from time to time. That way we can learn how much you need and create a schedule for when to give it to you."
When writing that part of the story Mark didn’t go into too much detail. He only stated that the protagonist gave the dhampir a small amount and that was it. Because of that, he had no idea how much a real-life version of her would need.
’I guess she wouldn’t be excited about doing it again and again...’
The desire for blood belonged to the vessel, which was modeled after a dhampir. It wouldn’t be strange for the entity residing inside it to be against the idea of biting a human and drinking his blood, or doing it at regular intervals just so she wouldn’t lose control.
Lara still looked conflicted even after he explained his offer. It made him want to find a solution to her trouble and thankfully it didn’t take him long to come up with one.
