Chapter 65: Blasphemy.
Bracing himself, Mark walked over to the door, grabbed the handle, and gave it a twist. Pausing for a moment, he then pulled the door open.
Only a small counter separated the living room from the kitchen so one could still see the rest of the apartment from the entrance to the bedroom.
The dining table was a mess. On one side was a tall man with long hair struggling to release himself from the hold of a blonde guy. On the other side of the table was a short girl standing on a chair and waving a yellow disc of some sort over the table.
Even though he had no idea of what was happening, the sadistic smile worn by the girl made Mark shiver even as he looked on from afar.
His attention was on the trio so he didn’t notice the wall blocking the way toward the stove. Only when it moved did Mark realize it was in fact a massive balloon of a man standing there with his back to the others.
From the looks of it he was working something on the stove while ignoring the racket behind him. Ramsay didn’t seem to care as well seeing how he was chilling on the couch with his feet on the coffee table and a cigarette in his hand.
Mark didn’t really care about the Sergeant or the big guy in the kitchen. His sight was on the three standing around the dinner table.
At first, Mark didn’t understand what was happening, but then he saw the pie on the table. He saw the white dough, the red sauce, and the shredded cheese. That was all he needed to recognize the dish.
The short girl seemed to be threatening to put something on that dish. The rage in the eyes of the long-haired man showed he wasn’t willing to let her do it, but with the blonde guy restraining him he could only watch and curse.
