Chapter 55: No way.
"Say, you only Awakened a couple of days ago, right?" The woman spoke in a relaxed tone that contrasted with their current situation. "Did those PK bastards brainwash you into joining them already?"
The young man she held by the hair wasn’t in a state to answer, but that didn’t seem to be a concern.
"Heeeyy! Anybody there?" She gave him a few slaps on the cheek but only got groans in response. "Well, we will have enough time to talk later. Let’s get-"
The hooded woman whipped her head to the left abruptly then leaned back a moment before something flashed right beside it. With her perception slowing the scene before her eyes, she saw that the projectile was a dark gray spear.
The force behind it generated enough wind to blast her back, tearing the young man from her grasp. The spear lodged itself into the concrete, but before she could take her eyes off of it, the weapon disappeared.
The hooded woman clicked her tongue and turned in the direction of the shooter. A few dozen meters away, a silver-haired girl was dodging several stone projectiles all while directing a sharp glare at her.
Though she threw it a second ago, the spear appeared in the girl’s hands just in time for her to block the tail swung at her by the lizard-like monstrosity. When the tail struck the bottom end of the spear, the girl used the force of the strike to spin around and take a throwing position in the air.
The launched spear was like a missile, taking a curved path as it headed straight for the hooded woman. Clicking her tongue, she jumped away at the last moment and evaded it, only for the spear to disappear yet again.
"Damn you PK bastards..." The woman cursed.
