Chapter 11: Headshot.
When making his choice, Mark went straight for the cars at the very back of the street. He spotted an SUV with the doors open and prayed that whoever left it there had also left the keys inside.
"The SUV near the corner!" He told the silver-haired maid. "Put them in the back and buy us some time!"
"Understood!" Lara caught on to his plan pretty quickly and got to work right away.
Being faster, she went ahead and placed the two boys in the back seats. She fastened the seatbelts around them then went back to face the monsters before her master even arrived.
Mark was wheezing by the time he reached the vehicle. He glanced at the ignition and couldn't help but smile when he saw the colorful keychain still hanging under the steering wheel.
Another plus was that the car had a baby seat in the back, which was exactly what he needed right now. When he tried to place the toddler in it she refused to let go of him.
The kid was petrified, but the situation didn't allow him the leeway to handle it delicately. He forcefully tore her away from him and strapped her to the baby seat before rushing to the front of the car only to stop when he heard the sound of gunfire nearby.
With an entire dragon and its minions on their back Mark no longer cared if anyone found out what his maid was capable of. It was only after he saw her shooting the monsters with an AR-15 did he realized he should've told her to not hold back on using her abilities.
The maid was running around with a rifle in her hands firing at the monsters and drawing their attention away from them her master and the rest.
The bullets seemed to bounce off of the Lizardmen's scales, but the same couldn't be said about their wounds so Lara focused her aim on the scorched flesh.
'Don't think!' Mark told himself. 'Just get the car going!'
