"Hazuki?"
"Mm? Yes, Ellyn?" Hazuki replied, voice muffled as he stuffed another bite of grilled meat into his mouth.
He barely had time to chew before Ridan floated down with a sly grin and tried to snatch the next piece from his hand.
"Oi—Ridan," Hazuki muttered, keeping the skewer out of reach. "At least let me eat first."
"Nope. No can do," Ridan smirked. "Tastes better when I steal it. You’re basically our food delivery system now."
Then came Syaria, floating in from the side, her eyes shining with delight.
"Waaah~!! It’s been so long since I’ve tasted anything! Ridan~ look! Look! I can actually chew this!"
She chomped down on a chunk of meat that had just passed through Hazuki’s hand, her spirit form pulsing briefly with warmth.
Hazuki stared at the two mischievous spirits swarming his food.
He sighed. "At least don’t take it straight from my hand..."
Ridan just grinned wider. "You’re sharing your love, meat, and warmth with us, Hazuki. That’s what true partnership is."
Hazuki didn’t even respond this time.
