Blades flashed brilliantly under the cold glow of the moon.
In a blur of swift movements, Gikan spun around, one short blade slicing across a troll’s exposed thigh, while the other arced upward in a smooth, practiced motion, opening the beast’s chest in a clean strike.
The creature crashed down mid-roar, but even before its body hit the ground.
Two more monsters replaced it.
Their claws scraped loudly against the stone, saliva hissing menacingly from their jaws.
Gikan’s face remained steady, but his breathing grew sharper, tense with the fight.
This isn’t normal.
Two monsters taken down. Two more appear instantly. It feels like it never ends.
He leapt back just in time as one of the new threats lunged toward him, slashing its arm clean off at the elbow. Gikan retaliated with another swift swing, slicing through its throat and dropping it. But the second beast was already rushing toward him again.
Gikan flipped his sword into a reverse grip and slid beneath the attack—then thrust both blades upward into the beast’s ribs, twisting hard before ripping them out. Its body collapsed with a guttural roar.
Another deafening roar echoed behind him.
