Today, I don't have work. The chief told us it would be our day off. I planned to join the guys for drinks or hanging out, but what did they say?
"Sorry, crazy guy, I got a date."
"Hey, I'm going to the next town with my wife."
"Sorry, no can do, crazy guy. I have other plans."
Damn these normies! And they all have girls already! Why am I the only one who doesn't!?

"Why is life so unfair?" I lamented dramatically, throwing my hands up in the air.
"Haaa... so I'm just alone today, huh?"
I rubbed my chin, thinking. I had some money saved up, so I could use this free time to do something useful.
"...Should I register as an adventurer?"
Yeah, that sounded like a good plan. The slime incident was humiliating, but at least I learned something. Plus, if I could earn from fighting monsters, that'd be a huge bonus.
