Edmund stood up quickly and walked away without even looking back. His steps were fast, almost desperate, as if he couldn’t get away from her soon enough.
"No! No! Wait!" Primrose’s heart dropped the moment she realized he had completely misunderstood her reaction. "Edmund, stop! Please!"
She chased after him without thinking, her dress catching on the grass, her breath catching in her throat.
Yes, she was shocked by what he said, who wouldn’t be? But that didn’t mean she saw him as a monster.
