The Mind-Reading Mate: Why Is the Lycan King So Obsessed With Me?

Chapter 202: Between Heaven and Bloodline

Primrose didn’t say anything, but the look in her eyes said enough. Deep down, she already knew something about her wasn’t normal.

Leofric spoke slowly, carefully choosing his words. "The magic I found inside the tiger’s brain ... it was mind control magic."

He let the words settle in Primrose’s mind before continuing. "This isn’t something that can be learned or trained. Even someone with powerful magic couldn’t use it unless they were born with it."

"There are only two possible explanations for someone to have this kind of ability," he continued. "One, they inherited it through bloodline. Or two ..." He hesitated, clearly unsure whether to say it. "They were blessed by the heavens themselves."

Leofric let Primrose absorb the information for a moment before asking again, "So, which one is it, Your Majesty?" He looked at her intently. "Did you inherit that magic through your bloodline, or ... does heaven love you so much that it blessed you with such tremendous power?"

Primrose opened her mouth to answer but stopped halfway. Her lips pressed into a line.

The truth was ... she didn’t know. She had no idea where this strange power came from.

"I don’t know," she said softly. "I’ve never controlled anyone’s mind before."

"Else," Leofric emphasized. "You’ve never controlled anyone else’s mind, except for the tiger, remember?"

He leaned back slightly. "I’ve already sealed this place with a magical barrier. No one will hear a word of what’s being said in this room. That’s why, Your Majesty, if there’s something you want to tell us, you won’t be in any danger after doing so."

Telling them that she could control someone’s mind was one thing. But telling them that she could read people’s minds? That was an entirely different matter.
