Chapter 126: Send A Letter (1)
It wasn’t just about keeping someone safe.
Primrose wanted to build a circle of people she could rely on, people who would stand by her side no matter what.
If something terrible happened in the future, she wanted to know there would be someone willing to help her.
"What do you say, Sir Callen?" she asked, her eyes filled with hope, so much so that it looked like she might cry if he turned her down.
Feeling the weight of her gaze, Callen finally gave in and nodded. "I’ll accept your offer, Your Majesty."
[How could I say no when she looked at me like that?] he thought.
[Well ... there’s no harm in becoming her personal guard. Besides, from now on, I’ll train harder so I can truly protect her from anything.]
Primrose smiled so brightly that it felt like the sun had risen early just to match her joy.
"You made the right choice, Sir Callen," she said enthusiastically. "I’ll let His Majesty know right away. Once he makes it official, you’ll receive all the benefits of being my personal guard."
Callen blinked, his smile fading slightly as he asked nervously, "Your Majesty ... you haven’t told His Majesty about this yet?"
"I haven’t," Primrose replied casually. "But don’t worry, my husband won’t say no to me."
