The first attempt happened when a group of bandits ambushed her carriage while she was on her way to visit her father in Illvaris City, a territory within the Vellmoria Empire.
They had no interest in robbing her. No demands for gold. No threats to take her hostage.

At the time, she thought it was just a coincidence. But now? She was certain that Edmund must have secretly ordered them to follow her to Vellmoria secretly.
