Adam remained standing in the hall, surrounded by his companions, as the tension in the air thickened.
The air hummed with anticipation before a bright flash signaled Sona’s return. Her wings fluttered gracefully, casting shimmering patterns on the walls.
Just beneath her, Krish appeared, unceremoniously deposited on the floor.
Krish looked disoriented, his eyes half-closed as though yanked from the depths of a deep sleep.
He blinked rapidly, struggling to adjust to the unfamiliar surroundings. His gaze flitted around the room, landing on Adam and his companions, and his expression shifted from confusion to alarm.
"Adam— I mean, Master Adam!" Krish stammered, his voice betraying his nerves.
Adam ignored the formal greeting. Instead, he crouched to Krish’s level, his piercing gaze locking onto him.
It didn’t escape Adam’s notice that Krish was groggy, the faint lines of sleep still etched on his face. Clearly, Sona had teleported him straight from his bed.
Adam doesn’t care about any of this; right now all he wants to know is whether Krish has talked to the government or not.
