Chapter 139: Chains of Power
UV1 stood motionless, his calculating eyes shifting toward one of his soldiers. With a sharp nod, he summoned the man forward.
The soldier stepped out of line, his boots clicking rhythmically against the cold metal floor. Reaching into his pocket, he retrieved a small, spherical device, its surface a dull shade of brown.
Another soldier soon joined him, mirroring the first’s actions and producing an identical device from his uniform.
Both men moved with robotic precision, their expressions devoid of any emotion as they carried out UV1’s silent command.
Adam watched from the sidelines, his heart pounding against his ribcage. Every muscle in his body screamed for action, But he could not do anything except watching..
His mind raced, desperate to understand UV1’s plan as he observed the soldiers approach Pratham and Mikasa, who lay unconscious on the cold floor.
One soldier stopped next to Pratham. Kneeling, he activated the device in his hand by tapping its small, glowing button.
A faint hum filled the air as the device began to glow with an ominous brown light. The soldier then placed the second device directly beneath Pratham’s limp body.
The reaction was instantaneous. A shimmering brown sphere of energy materialized around Pratham, crackling faintly as it sealed him inside.
The translucent barrier pulsated with an eerie glow, its surface smooth yet unyielding, as if mocking any attempt to break through.
The second soldier mirrored the process with Mikasa. Within moments, she too was encased in an identical energy field, her unconscious form silhouetted against the soft brown hue.
