The cavern was eerily silent now, save for the faint echoes of Adam’s own breathing.
Everyone else had already left, their footsteps long since faded into the distance.
Standing alone in the dimly lit space, Adam let out a deep breath, his thoughts heavy with the weight of their mission.
"It’s time for me to leave too," he muttered to himself. Slowly, he raised both hands into the air. A soft hum filled the cavern as his body lifted off the ground, suspended effortlessly in the air.
Turning toward the only entrance—the same one his group had used to infiltrate this base—Adam propelled himself forward with a swift motion. His movements were precise, his focus sharp as he darted through the twisting paths of the cavern.
The tunnels were dark, their walls rough and jagged. Adam’s eyes glinted as he extended his hand, conjuring optical traps at various points along the way. Pulsating waves of light shimmered briefly before settling into invisibility, creating barriers that would disorient and delay any pursuing soldiers.
As he neared the exit, Adam’s thoughts wandered to the challenges ahead. A fleeting smirk crossed his face. "Let’s see them deal with that," he murmured, his voice tinged with determination.
Finally, he reached the entrance. The same place he had sealed earlier to prevent intrusions now stood before him—a seemingly unremarkable, old-fashioned wall. Hovering mid-air, Adam extended his hand. A faint ripple spread across the surface, and the wall shifted, revealing an opening large enough for him to pass through.
Without hesitation, Adam surged forward, his body a blur as he shot through the opening and soared upward into the open sky.
