The battlefield was a chaotic symphony of destruction. Tayo’s Matter State—a form that rendered her incorporeal—had been deactivated by the forceful impact of the previous explosions.
She floated mid-air, her wings beating rapidly, as the realization hit her like a tidal wave.
"These vampires have adapted... they’re using calculated explosions to counter my ability."
Her golden iridescent different colours eyes narrowed as a memory of Adam’s words replayed in her mind.
"The attack on the hospital wasn’t random. It was to analyze your powers."
Her lips curled into a wry smile. "So that’s what this is. They’ve developed a countermeasure just for me."
Tayo is very surprised and at the same time she is very happy because her creator was right, i.e. Adam had made the right prediction.
Her wings flared, stirring the air with a sharp whirr, as she descended toward a cluster of vampires.
She clenched her fists, determination burning like a golden flame within her.
