"The Alpha heir will escort you to the Gala shortly. Miss, we must leave now we have more responsibilities to attend too." The maid mentions bowing to Violet.
Violet instantly felt a wave of sadness wash over her.
"Wait" she shouted, "I don’t know even your names!"
The maids paused and looked at each other before turning around to face Violet in complete surprise. "Our names?" A noble was asking their names, they couldn’t believe it.
"I’m Mary" one maid said.
"And I’m Stacy."
"It was a pleasure to serve you tonight, miss." They said in unison.
"Thank you." Violet responded, bowing herself.
The maids were utterly stunned, someone of such high status showed them, lowly commoners, a sign of respect.
The maids turned away again and left. Violet watched them leave and turned back to the mirror twisting in her dress, admiring herself, and with a sigh she let the dread set in, there was a reason it was white and looked like a wedding dress. Her princes better find her quickly, she can’t marry that man. She heard footsteps creep up behind her. Did the maids leave something? No, they would have knocked, they knew the limits of their station.
