The Day Before Test Day — Flashback
"Good luck tomorrow. I think I’ve tutored you enough. Now I’ll trust you to handle the rest," Callista said as she got up from her seat, getting ready to leave.
"Thank you for your guidance." Lethia refilled Callista’s empty glass with strawberry juice. Her face looked worn out from hours of studying.
No matter how much she loved learning new things, politics was never fun.
After finishing half the glass of juice, Callista grabbed her bag, and the two of them walked to the exit.
"To be honest, I feel like you’ll do great on the interview and the written test. You’re smart enough, darling."
Lethia squinted, rubbing the back of her neck as she tilted her head side to side to stretch. "Yeah, I hope so too... because this sore body better be worth it."
Callista looked at her with a faint trace of worry.
"The real problem is your stamina... once you hit the third phase, the physical test."
"Like I said, you don’t—"
"I’m not worried about you." She cut her off sharply, making Lethia freeze. "But you should be. For yourself. And... your baby."
