Steampunk Era: Mad Abield

Chapter 1069: Section 674: Art (4)

The Thanans seem to have some hidden motives.

This is the unanimous opinion of several old members of the Westland diplomatic delegation responsible for the negotiations.

But they couldn’t figure out what these Thanans would want—the city they see, so prosperous, is merely a remote port in the south belonging to the Thainan Union. If such a port can still be considered remote, then when they arrive at New Hangzhou Bay—the first deep-water port in the south of this vast country—what kind of enormous city will appear before them? It’s completely unimaginable, completely incomprehensible.

What do the Thanans want? In recent years, if it weren’t for Mr. Malin’s push in the military industry, there is absolutely nothing in Westland that the Thanans would desire.

Someone indeed thought of requesting Mr. Malin to exchange technology with the Thanans using weapon blueprints as a condition, but this idea was quickly rejected by Ambassador Sidney Roben Messiah among others.

The original ambassador declined his work, so Roben was brought forward.

He is the only one in the ambassadorial team who feels that what the Thanans desire has to do with Mr. Malin.

However, this view isn’t accepted by others because everyone believes that unless the Thanans are insane, they wouldn’t target Mr. Malin due to his legendary status.

But Roben does not think so, because he feels that the Thanans do not aim to seduce Mr. Malin (speaking of seduction, Roben really isn’t worried, because everyone says Malin isn’t interested in pure humans, and it’s believed that for Malin, the half-bloods are what truly enhance his liking), that girl surnamed Meng is only aligned in spirit with Mr. Malin, Roben senses this girl and Malin are more like good brothers.
