Steampunk Era: Mad Abield

Chapter 991: Section 644: Fish and Fisherman (part 3)

The AIs loathe or even despise the Evil Gods, along with those who summoned them into this world.

Because of this, they regard the survivors who later attained divine status during the First Era with even more indifference, and when a survivor becomes an evil deity, the AIs will do everything possible to kill them.

In the First Era, when these so-called deities still walked the earth, Sostak No.3 used tungsten rods more than once to hunt those survivors who became deities. Later, when tungsten rods ran out, Sostak No.3 lured other survivors to hunt evil deities with various weapons.

Sostak No.3 and Jason even collaborated with the deities from the neutral and good camps—facing major decisions, the AIs are more willing than humans to unite all forces that can be united.

This action lasted for almost an era until the deities on Earth started to ascend their thrones and the AIs could no longer directly harm the deities. Military AIs like Sostak No.3 began to hibernate, using conflicts between different churches of deities. Deities need faith, and they helped the churches of neutral and good deities, aided major settlements, and even dispatched reliable military mechanical bodies to kill the organizers and key members of the churches subordinate to evil deities.

Because of this, the Evil Gods in this world have always been oppressed by the Rightful Gods.

But this is far from enough. The evil gods of the original land emerge endlessly, and over time, even military AIs began to distort and mutate in this world that has been altered by Subspace.

By the time the Third Era began, Sostak No.3 was the only military AI in the European region that had not mutated. He once had four military AI companions, but these four companions were ultimately mutated, and Sostak No.3 killed them with tungsten rods, turning them and the military bases they were with into things of the past. The uncontrolled mechanical entities in the Dark Zone are out-of-control entities that lost control.

Sostak No.3 can hack them but cannot gain control, only shutting them down. However, due to the long distance, he currently cannot achieve this.

For safety, Sostak No.3 left a tungsten rod for himself; if the worst happens, he will execute himself before he completely mutates.

Jason, on the other hand, is different. Engineer Mr. Zhang repaired his underlying core and, with the guidance of Nameless, crafted an Inscription Shell to encase his artificial brain.
