With those words, the proud platoon leader, for the sake of his own child, finally nodded, carefully wrapped up the piece of honeycomb and put it into the small pocket of his overcoat.

Jon looked at his younger brother, and as an older brother, he was very happy, for his brother had indeed changed recently. Before that, his brother resembled an evil spirit bent on vengeance, unconcerned with ideology or thought.

Jon was the same, but after meeting Sir Malin and genuinely understanding his interpretation of ideology, Jon realized that change was indeed necessary, and both the magnitude and direction of that change needed to be adjusted.

Jon sat down at the table, a right that belonged to him, and began to eat breakfast—the black bread was still somewhat hard, but compared to the past few days it was a delicacy, as Jon had even had to use spells to expel pebbles and sand from his stomach.

This made him understand and agree more with what Sir Malin had said—it was impossible to rely on the conscience of the big business owners. Some workers could even be corrupted by the petty benefits given by these owners, becoming adversaries of their fellow workers, conspiring with them to hike the price of flour; to produce sand, stones, and sawdust mixed into black bread; they become loudspeakers and spies for the business owners and Nobles, undermining the workers’ efforts from within.

Just for the sake of ten extra bucks, some people can sell their soul.

But after Sir Malin arrived, everything changed.

Sometimes, Jon even wondered if it was because of Sir Malin’s arrival that everything changed.

But he soon realized that the mere arrival of Sir Malin didn’t have any variable; it was his every word and action that gradually changed everything.
